Spring into Summer & Fall into Winter - challenge

A Sims 4 seasons challenge with very bad play on words. You get it? Spring, summer, fall & winter? Ahhh, never mind…

I am not aware of any challenges for seasons yet, so I decided to give it a try. The challenge is a 4 generation-legacy challenge, so short but not short, if you get what I mean 😉

The challenge wishes to explore the expansion pack, because there is a lot of new stuff! It also forces you to create some new holidays you can spend with your loved ones.

There are some basic rules for the challenge:

💐 Generation 1 - Spring:

Traits: Romantic, loves the outdoors & vegetarian 

Aspiration: Soulmate

Career: Gardener (Floral Designer-branch)

Spring has sprung, and the vegetables begins to sprout. As a romantic, you find this season to be the best. The flowers begin to bloom, bees are in the air, and the smell of rain. Ahh, you love it. The only thing missing, is someone to share it with. 

Goals (You MUST complete all to move on to the next generation):

Traits: Good, hot-headed (get it?) & perfectionist

Aspiration: The Curator

Career:  Secret agent (Diamond agent-branch)

Summer has always been your favorite season, because it seems like everything is perfect. And, as a completionist, you have always been obsessed with perfect things, and always want to collect everything, while doing something good for the world.

Career:  Criminal (Boss-branch)

The temperatures are dropping, along with most peoples mood. Except yours. You love the dark hours and colors. To you, your parents were good. Too good. You do not see the good in the world, and neither in people. You have always wanted to cause mayhem and chaos.

Traits: Cheerful, foodie and family-oriented.  

Aspiration: Super parent

Career:  Social media-career (Internet Personality-branch)

Snow is falling, and as you look out the window you cannot help but wanting to share it with other people (on social media even). Winterfest has always been your favorite. The happy mood, the food, and spending time with the family makes you as happy as you can get. You know that your parents has not been the greatest of people, so you decide that you want to be that. The best parent in world even.

The Garden: A Legacy Challenge

Your entire 10 generations will be named after various plants you could find or have in your garden. This is inspired by the fact that your Sims will have a love for nature throughout all 10 generations, living their life on the family farm. Each generation also has a berry colour in case berry simmers would like to enjoy the challenge too!

you knew you were loved but one of your parents was always tense around you and it made you jealous of everyone around you. You are naturally brilliant and clever, so cleaning up and keeping tidy isn’t really your top priority. You’ve got better things to focus on! You love to fix and create things and your ideas for apps make you successful. But your jealousy makes it hard for you to feel truly happy in your career and romantic life.

traits: good, music lover, snob

aspiration: musical genius/ good vampire

you have always had a passion for music and because of your family’s wealth you are well versed in your musical talents and tastes. You can be a bit stuck up, but you have a good heart and want a large family. Unfortunately, a romance with a mysterious immortal leaves you heartbroken and undead. But you still have your morals and your children to take care of.

you have traits from both your parents and you have a hard time deciding what to do with your life. Another Beeping Legacy Challenge

Okay, okay, I know there are a million and one of these legacy challenges floating around, but none were quite to my liking. So I made my own! Feel free to try it yourself!

Generation One: Humble Beginnings (Green) All your life, you were labeled as an outcast. Too quiet, too weird, too geeky, too awkward. You might have been teased as a child, but you always kept your head. You had this confidence running through your veins that never seemed to let up, and it’s time to prove everyone who called you names wrong. A grungy apartment just came on the market, and you put your deposit down sight unseen and packed up what few possessions you had and moved to San Myshuno to become the best Charity Organizer the city has ever seen. Can you prove it? Can you prove that you’re more than just your awkwardness?

Theme: Live a humble lifestyle. No fancy clothes, expensive vacations, or lavish household furnishings. Any time your wealth exceeds $10,000 you must donate at least $5000 to charity.

Generation Two: Moving On Up (White) Your parents were givers. So much so that you spent your entire childhood missing out on all the “cool stuff” most kids your age had. While you know that money isn’t everything, it wouldn’t hurt to have a little more of it lying around right?

Theme: Build your wealth… the right way. Work hard, make good choices, and accomplish as much as you can so that you and your kids can benefit with a clear conscience. Also, transform your home with sleek and modern décor.

MINI CHALLENGES: 1. Have a dream date with spouse 2. Take a well-deserved lavish vacation 3. Throw a Black & White Bash

Generation Three: Everyone Loves Me (Purple) What makes a good friend? Someone who is loyal, kind, trustworthy, and fun to be around! Thankfully your parents raised you right. Their good work ethic brought them wealth which allowed them to break into some of the more prestigious social circles in the city which, in turn, allowed you to make a name for yourself before you even knew you were making a name for yourself. Relationships are easy for you, people seem to genuinely like you, and that’s why you want the entire world to be your friend!

Theme: Be the center of attention and a good friend to as many friends as you can. You’re famous (or at least on your way) but don’t take advantage of the people who helped you along the way. Your home should be colorful, as well as your clothes.

Generation Four: Back To Basics (Pink) Your parents were, in a word, exhausting. They were great parents but their social life was tiring. All you want now is a little bit of peace and quiet, and you will have to move away from San Myshuno to find it. Everything about life as you know it (namely the hustle and bustle) is about to change. Will you love it or hate it? Only time will tell!

Theme: Do your best to live off the land. City life was too high-paced for you, so finding a quiet street to build your home on is your top priority.

MINI CHALLENGES: 1. Earn $1000 from selling honey 2. Evolve all plants to “perfect” quality 3. Max the flower arranging skill

Generation Five: Order Up! (Red) It was nice having every meal farm to table, but it’s now your dream to open your very own restaurant with the widest variety of cuisine this side of the Sim World. Growing up in a vegetarian household was fine and all, but your tastes are mature and you crave sampling every kind of food in existence. The question is after those first three tastes of gooey goodness called grilled cheese and your sudden obsession with all that is cheesy, will you want to serve anything else in your restaurant?

Theme: With all the hubbub of opening a new restaurant, your mind will be focused on what else than food! You’ll need to experiment at home creating new dishes to serve at your eatery, so get those skills building. Your home will definitely need a gourmet kitchen with all the bells and whistles.

• Aspiration: Grilled Cheese • Traits: Glutton, Clumsy, Bro • Collect all experimental food photos • Run a 5-Star restaurant

MINI CHALLENGES: 1. Become friends with all your restaurant employees 2. Earn $1000 from selling cupcakes 3. Max the cooking and gourmet cooking skills

Generation Six: Fish, Frogs, and Bugs OH MY! (Blue) You never wanted in on the family business. Owning a 5-star rated restaurant sounds interesting, but you saw what it did to your parents. Long hours, stressful shifts, always playing mediator between employees. It’s not your jam. What is your jam? Fish, frogs, and pretty much any type of creepy crawly you can imagine. Being one with nature is your jam. Hopefully your parents won’t take it too hard when you decide to sell the family business…

Theme: You spend most of your time outdoors, so picture a more rugged sense of style for your clothes, hair, and accessories. Be sure to display a fair amount of your “treasures” around your house too! (This includes fish, frogs, and insects)

• Aspiration: Angling Ace • Traits: Active, Bookworm, Loves the Outdoors • Collect all fish • Collect all frogs • Collect all insects

MINI CHALLENGES: 1. Max the photography skill 2. Visit the Hermit of Granite Falls 3. Have all children join Scouts

Generation Seven: Heart Beats Like a Jungle Drum (Orange) You share your affinity of the outdoors with your parents, but you want more. More excitement, more danger, more mystery! You’ve heard of a place called Selvadorada, and it is your one and only mission to make it there and experience all it has to offer. Time to stock up on that spider spray!

Theme: Since your only thoughts are about the jungle, you need to be ready at a moment’s notice to travel there. Your clothes will be jungle-ready as well as the rest of your appearance. Wide brimmed hats are helpful.

• Aspiration: Jungle Explorer OR Archaeology Scholar • Traits: Self Assured, Active, Erratic • Collect all Ancient Omiscan Artifacts • Collect all Omiscan Treasures • Max Selvadoradan Culture skill

Generation Eight: 1337 Me Teach You Something (Black) Unlike your parents, there is nothing you enjoy more than being indoors. You are the most comfortable behind a computer screen or hidden away in a telescope to gaze at the stars. Science nerd doesn’t even begin to describe you, but you don’t mind even one little decimal point. Besides, there’s technology all around us. Doesn’t that make you fit in more than make you stand out?

Theme: High tech. Geeky. Nerdy. Aliens. Video games. Nuff said.

• Aspiration: Nerd Brain • Traits: Genius, Geek, Lazy • Collect all space prints • Collect all space rocks • Reach top of Astronaut Career

Generation Nine: Little of This, Little of That (Multicolor) Eight generations of Sims came before you and all seemed to know exactly what they wanted out of life. Well, not you. This generation is all about trying new things for you, and that is exactly what you are going to do! Buckle up!

Theme: Eccentric. You can’t make up your mind about anything, including your style and décor choices.

Generation Ten: Family Matters (Yellow) There is nothing more important than family. The generations before you have taught you that although having aspirations and goals is nice, the one thing that is always by your side is family. That is why you are devoting your entire life to having and raising the perfect family. What might be perfect for one family, might not be for another. It’s your job to figure out what perfect means to you and create it to the best of your ability because your family means the world to you.

Theme: Your clothes must be tasteful but cheery, and your home as neat as a pin.

Originally this was built for my Hecklebury legacy family a while back. I personally really like this house but my first version was jam packed with CC and tbh I’m pretty lazy and could not be bothered trying to find all this CC I downloaded over the years. Maybe some of it isn’t even available anymore I don’t know. So here is a CC free version which actually works better. This is play tested with my current legacy family and everything works. You have to turn on MOO cheat before placing this lot or things will be out of place.

A simple edit to remove the wainscotting from the square tiles that came with Parenthood! Instead of leaving them flush with the floor, I also added a baseboard to the bottom.
