These are from this animated storyboard, which has a much different take on the events that happened at Villain-Con, particular the challenge to become Scarlet’s new henchmen. Originally it seems like Herb was supposed to be there too, waiting in the jet for Scarlet’s return afterward, not back home in England.

It’s such a shame they changed it up cuz honestly I love this reunion between the two lovebirds more than the one that’s in the final cut. It’s romantic and super sweet, and it shines a much softer light on the couple, rather than it being chock full of sexual undertones. I don’t think there’s a hug quite like this that we see in the movie. Look at how they run toward each other; the way Herb swoops down to be on Scarlet’s level; the way Scarlet leaps into his arms; and the way they’re hugging and looking at each other. Scarlet was probably gone for a few hours, but they act like they haven’t seen each other in weeks. It’s so cute! And look at her face in the 7th image! Super adorable and full of fluff.

There are plenty more storyboards from different takes of the movie. I’m sad to see what all was changed because the Overkills have much more character/personality in these. I assume this is what Coffin meant when they had to rewrite the film because it started to focus more on Scarlet… Terrible, terrible shame.

I’ll probably get around to posting more screencaps when I have the time to collect them. Got finals to focus on.
