I do not know what will happen to me today, o my God. All I know is that nothing will happen to me but what You have foreseen from Eternity. That is sufficient, o my God, to keep me in peace. I adore Your infinite designs. I submit to them with all of my heart. I desire them all: I accept them all. I make the sacrifice to You of everything. I unite this sacrifice to that of your dear Son my Saviour, begging You by His Sacred Heart and by His infinite merits for the patience in my troubles and the perfect submission which is due to You in all that You wish and permit.

Critique needed!! Any/everyone! Help a starving artist/student out.
After a much needed couple of years off for my mental health, some working, some resting, and some schooling, I’m currently applying to colleges - among which are a couple art colleges! I’d love for you to read my artists statement and just react to it, or give your opinion. I’ll post a screenshot of my portfolio too, since that goes with it.
Art is about communication, so no matter how old or young, how experienced in art, whether you’re a hobbyist, a professional, or just someone who enjoys viewing art - I’d love to heard how my artist statement sounds to you!
Statement:
I find people fascinating. I love sifting through culture – modern and historical – and discovering the way other people perceive the world through things like gender or laughter; and how different it can be than my own experience. I love finding those short moments of understanding where I forget myself and experience another reality. This can happen when reading a good book, finding a quiet spot in nature, being in a historical building with nothing modern in sight, or seeing a beloved artwork in person for the first time. I create art to try and share or create those moments with others – to break into someone else’s reality with an image, and to have them feel something new and unique – something human.
Portfolio:
Happy birthday to every American. I cant believe we were all born 241 years ago when Benjamin Franklin smote the ground and George Washington appeared fully formed on his horse, and the three of them - Washington, Franklin, and the horse - conducted the entire revolution by themselves

there’s something really satisfying about the fact that sir arthur conan doyle was the most gullible motherfucker on the planet
sir arthur conan doyle: here is my oc, he is a super genius who solves all the mysteries using the power of deductive reasoning
also sir arthur conan doyle: i have deduced that these fairies are real as shit
sir arthur conan doyle: there’s only one way to determine if these fairies are real… i will give you girls these cameras, that i bought myself, and then i will develop the photos, so i know they haven’t been tampered with
some girls who took selfies in the woods with paper cutouts on hatpins: that seems reasonable
harry houdini, after showing his good friend how he got tricked by a con artist: so as you can see, anyone can make it seem as if they can talk to ghosts
sir arthur conan doyle: harry… i can’t believe you never told me you can talk to ghosts, for real, using actual magic
Doyle and Houdini’s relationship is the funniest thing in the entire history of the skepticism movement
Doyle was SO CONVINCED that Houdini had legit magic powers and could turn into smoke or some shit to escape things and Houdini was like “no seriously it’s a trick let me show you how it works” and Doyle was all “it hurts me that you won’t trust me with this secret”
If memory serves he eventually decided that Houdini was subconsciously magic and in denial
