19. peace, love, and good vibes.

So, whoever made this has taught me more in this one pic set than 12 years of grade school, 4 years of college and my ongoing years in law school.

This is so important

bruh 👏🏾😂.

Home girl boutta schmooze her way through college

That discussion board one actually works. Got an A in that portion of my Senior Sem doing that. This is gold.

This is her calling. You can DEFINITELY use the same hacks at your job with a few tweaks here & there!

Literally this is how I’ve survived 3.75 years of college. This is gold. This is truth.

Passing college like a Slytherin………I love it

Makeup Dupes: Lipstick

Hi guys!

Today I wanted to talk about dupes.  I know I must sound like a broken record about them, but here’s the thing.  I’m not made out of money. If I wanted to, I could probably save up all of my money and buy expensive products once in a blue moon, but there are things I would rather spend that money on. So I love products that look and feel the same but for a lower price.  I can’t promise that these will be exact or that you’ll love them as much as I do, but I’m pretty positive that you will.

First I wanted to start off with lipsticks.  A lot of people rave about MAC’s lipsticks, but $15.00 USD is a bit much.  Here are some dupes for well-known MAC lip colours, all under $10.00 USD:

Mac Angel - Elf Lipstick in Classy Mac Bubbles- Wet n Wild #516A lipstick Mac Candy Yum Yum- Milani Lipstick in Rose hip Mac Carnal- L'Oreal Wine and Dine Mac Chatterbox- Nyx Fig Mac Costa Chic- Revlon Coralberry Mac Craving- Maybelline Shine Sensational in Party Pink Mac Creme Cup- Maybelline Shine Sensational in Born with it, Maybelline Pink Please Mac Creme d'nude- Elf Lipstick in Natural Nymph Mac Creme de la femme- Revlon Satin Plum Mac Cunning- Milani Lipstick in BlackCherry Mac Cyber- Manic Panic lipstick in Black Witch Mac Dainty Cake- NYC Firefly #306b Mac Dame- Boots no.7 Candy Pink Mac Delish- Wet ‘n’ Wild Ice Cream Mac Diva- Jane lipstick in Really Raisin Mac Ever Hip- Physican’s Formula I <3 Nude Mac Fabby- Revlon Satin Plum Mac Film Noir- L'Oreal Colour Endure lipstick in Hot Fudge Mac Flavour- Maybelline Nude Pink Mac Freckletone- Revlon Creme Brulee Mac Frenzy- Revlon Bamboo Bronze Mac Frou-Bonne Bell Vanilla Volts Mac Gel- Revlon Sparkling Cider Mac Girl about town- Covergirl Spellbound Mac Grid-Bonne Bell LipGear in Traffic Jam Mac Haku-Wet 'n’ Wild #546-A lipstick Mac High Tea- Rimmel Airy Fairy, Milani Sheer Lipstick in Amaterro Mac Hyper- Revlon Granite lipstick Mac Innocence Beware- Maybelline Nude Nuances Mac Lame- Prestige Sorbet lipstick Mac Lust- Maybelline Great Wear lipstick in Silver Lilac Mac MidiMauve- Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Smokey Rose Mac Modum- Almay Malt lipstick Mac O-Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Copperglow Berry Mac Odyssey- Bonne Bell LipGear in Berry Bash Mac Peachstock- Revlon Nude Attitude Mac Pervette- Jane HipLips in Pink Slip Mac Quick Sizzle- NYX Sweet Pink Mac Ravishing- Revlon Peach Mac Retro- Jane Lipstick in Browned Down Red Mac Rockocco- Milani Candy Apple lipstick Mac Russain Red- Sonia Kashuk lipstick in Geisha or Prestige Lipstick in Fatal Red Mac Sequin- Almay Sequin one coat lipstick Mac Shy Girl- Revlon Just Enough Buff Mac Snob- Revlon Pink Pout, Revlon Primrose Mac Speed dial- Revlon Colorburst in Carnation Mac Spirit- Cosmetic Factory Angel lipstick Mac Strength- Avon Brilliant Moisture Lipstick in Tiger’s Eye Mac Touch-Jane Browned Down Red lipstick, The Body Shop Vanilla lipstick Mac Twig- Avon Twig lipstick, Prestige VIP lipstick, Jane LipHuggers in Kind Of Carob Mac Up the amp- Revlon Berry Haute Mac Viva Glam V- Rimmel Moisture Renew in Sunset Mac Viva Glam II- L'oreal Colour riche in Fairest Nude Mac Viva Glam Gaga- Rimmel Pink Blush Mac Viva Glam Gaga 2- NYX Circe Mac Viva Glam Nicki- Wet n Wild Pinkerbell Mac Wuss-Avon Spice lipstick, Wet 'n’ Wild #547A lipstick Mac XS- Cosmetic Factory Extra lipstick, Wet 'n’ Wild #506A lipstick

i think the weirdest thing is having left over information about someone. like i still know someone’s favorite girl name. or their favorite season. or someone’s address. i remember someone’s favorite ice cream flavors. and someone’s favorite childhood book. and the mental disorder their uncle has. i remember the ages and birthdays of their siblings. i remember the song they said they’d sing to their spouse. where do i put this down? where do i learn to forget?

I compiled some personal tactics and crowd sourced DIY remedies for the sads (clinical term) into a mini comic! Enjoy xoxo

“This is your daily, friendly reminder to use commas instead of periods during the dialogue of your story,” she said with a smile.

“Unless you are following the dialogue with an action and not a dialogue tag.” He took a deep breath and sat back down after making the clarifying statement.

“However,” she added, shifting in her seat, “it’s appropriate to use a comma if there’s action in the middle of a sentence.”

“True.” She glanced at the others. “You can also end with a period if you include an action between two separate statements.”

Things I didn’t know

“And–” she waved a pen as though to underline her statement–“if you’re interrupting a sentence with an action, you need to type two hyphens to make an en-dash.”

You guys have no idea how many students in my advanced fiction workshop didn’t know any of this when writing their stories.

How to Succeed at School

1. Get into the habit of being an early riser. We can all benefit from having a little bit of extra time in the morning. It reduces stress, helps to prevent you from forgetting things, and stops that crazy morning rush.

2. Deliberately decide to tune out distractions. Turn off the TV, social media, your phone, and hide away when you need to get work done.

3. Prepare for the next day the night before. Check off your mental to-do list and prepare for the next day before you go to bed. If possible, choose your clothes, find your books, pack your bag, and so on.

4. Prioritise being organized. For example, it often helps to use an agenda to stay on track with assignments and homework.

5. Go to bed at a reasonable time. A good night’s sleep is one of the best tips for learning, remembering and doing well at school.

6. Make reading one of your hobbies. Research indicates that reading is one of the best ways for developing language skills and building a strong vocabulary.

7. Eat well. A protein breakfast and balanced meals help sustain your energy throughout the day, and is essential for building a healthy brain.

8. Get fresh air and exercise. This helps with mental alertness, concentration, an efficient memory and a positive mood.

How To Get A Job Fast As Hell

 @owenabbott

  • Apply to a  job, wait (1) day, then call.  Give them your first and last name. Tell them you submitted an application and that you’re very motivated to find [Enter field name] work. Let the conversation lead you wherever it takes. Be very polite. Say” thank you for your time, I’ll be looking forward to hearing back from you.” Rinse, repeat. This is to force them to be looking out for your application.
  •  When you get to the interview, shake their hand firmly,  tell them your first and last name.
  • Describe your experiences  as “ two years transcription and data entry” if you have a desk job interview and “ [however many years]  costumer service, retail and stock” for your retail jobs.
  • Don’t use job “ buzz words” I stg they hear them all day. Say  things like, “ I’m detail oriented and am very good at taking instruction.”  “ I would like to work for a company with integrity and I feel that [ company name] would be a good fit”
  • When they ask you if you have “reliable transportation” say  YES. don’t tell them what kind of transportation, just say yes. (if you don’t do this, you wont get the job , I’m telling you right now).
  • Research the company. Know what they do, why they do it, how OLD the company is. WHERE it was founded, and what kind of position you’re intending to apply for.
  • When they ask you “ give us a situation where you had to blah blah blah” Make one the fuck up. Make yourself sound good as hell, and like you put your company’s needs slightly above the customer’s needs, but make the customer happy.
  • If they ask you about being outgoing, Say you “like to focus on your work so you can concentrate on doing things right” (which buys you out of having to act friendly all the time)

Questions for after the interview:

1.  Does this position offer upward mobility?

2. Do you enjoy working for the company? (if you’re not interviewing for a temp agency who will send you anywhere)

  •  Then, shake their hand,  Ask them to repeat their name (REMEMBER THIS) say thank you for your time, wish them a nice day and leave. write their name down outside if you have to, just remember the fuck out of it.
  • AFTER your interview, send a card directed to the name of the person who interviewed you (I’ll give you them) that says “Thank you for the interview, I appreciate the opportunity. have a great day” This shows  that you have an understanding of professionalism, and will have them thinking of you kindly (or at least remembering you) when they’re shuffling through the choices.
  • DO NOT tell them you just moved to the city over the phone.  In person, tell them you just moved to the city. Make it sound like the only reason you need a job is because you moved. Not because you’re desperate.
