Don't hate me dude but can you explain the new bill that just passed in Texas? As a Texan I am ashamed that I don't even know what's going on nowadays tbh

Its fucked up I stayed up till 3 am watching the whole thing and It was awful. Basically what SB4 is, it allows the State to hold funds from cities who are considered “santuary” (San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas) meaning that they dont cooperate with ICE detainers at the jails (which they all do). But that wasnt enough for those fuckers, the added on an amendment that now allowed ANY peace officers (yes, campus PD/School PD) to stop you and ask you about your immigration status. ANYWHERE, including school events, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters… ANYWHERE. Any officer can ask you to show him your papers, and if you dont have any they are to call ICE to come pick you up.

Dems tried to change the language to only allow the questioning to happened once you had been fully arrested, but GOP assholes didnt allow it and now any office for any reason can stop you and simply ask you to show him your paper. As a Texan you know we have a high hispanic population and well, now just by the color of your skin you will be ask for your papers.
