The Eras Tour, Glendale night 1

Game of Thrones Frozen AU:  In which Jon is Elsa and Arya is Anna and I Will Hear No Arguments

So, obviously it’s set in the chilly kingdom of The North, ruled by King Ned and Queen Catelyn Stark with their four children – Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran - and their cousin/adopted sibling, Jon.

Jon is born with magical snow & ice powers leading to his nickname Jon Snow. (I know, hilarious). All his siblings love playing with his ice magic, especially his favourite sister Arya who is always asking Jon to build snow wolves.

One night all the Starklings sneak out to play with the magic, but Jon accidentally ends up hurting Arya. Ned and Catelyn rush to the only people they can think can help - Followers of the Lord of Light, Thoros of Myr and Beric Dondarrion.

Using their fire powers, they heal Arya but wipe all the children’s memories, except Jon’s, to keep them safe.

Ned and Catelyn are so worried about Jon controlling his powers that they close up Winterfell completely and raise the children out of reach from the world.

Robb trains to be King, Sansa dreams of True Love Prince freeing her, Bran climbs Winterfell’s towers to see outside and Arya waits outside her favourite brother’s door asking him to build a snow wolf. She treasures the last gift he gave her – a little sword called Needle that looks like an ice shard. Meanwhile, Jon only gets more anxious and scared as his powers grow.

Things get even worse when Ned, Catelyn and Robb voyage to the southern Riverlands kingdom and are killed in a storm. Under final orders from the late King & Queen, the castle remains closed. ☹

After several years, Bran – now the new heir – reaches sixteen and is being crowned King.

Nobles from all the nearby kingdoms come for his coronation, including the slimy Lord Littlefinger from the Vale, and Prince Joffrey from the Westerlands – who Sansa meets and is instantly smitten with. Jon emerges and Arya again tries to connect with him.

At Bran’s coronation celebrations, Sansa announces she’s marrying Joffrey – triggering an argument with Bran, Arya and Jon who object. The argument escalates and Jon loses control of his ice powers, accidentally causing Bran to get hurt (idk, he falls off a balcony??).

Horrified at what he’s done, Jon flees, sparking a country-wide winter. Realising why he’s been hiding for all these years, Arya goes after him, leaving Sansa as regent, while Bran is recovering.

Jon flees far North and builds himself a giant ice castle – which he names The Wall. (Because he’s Putting Up Walls and the author is Not Subtle). He also builds the snow wolves Arya wanted for so long – Ghost and Nymeria.

Arya, following him, stops at an inn (run by an affable fellow called Hot Pie) and bumps into a grumpy blacksmith named Gendry who works shoeing traveller’s horses and fixing their wagon wheels and what-not. He’s extra-grumpy bc there aren’t a hell of a lot of travellers at the moments.  

Gendry agrees to help Arya to find Jon, and Much Bickering, Bantering And Snarking Occurs.

Back at Winterfell, Doctor Luwin says Bran will recover. Lord Littlefinger calls for Prince Jon to be killed. Sansa refuses and Joffrey gallantly offers to lead his men to find Jon and check Arya is ok.  

Arya and Gendry meet Nymeria on their travels, and Arya realizes Jon did want to build a snow wolf with her all that time. (Many hearts are warmed). They reach Jon at the Wall, and Arya begs him to come back – but Jon refuses, too scared of hurting anyone/her again. They argue, and Jon ends up blasting her in the heart. 

Gendry – absolutely freaking out naturally – takes Arya to his adopted family: The Brotherhood Without Banners, led by good old Beric and Thoros. They tell him only an Act of True Love, can save Arya – but she collapses before she can suggest who her ‘true love’ is.

Joffrey and his gang make it to The Wall, capture Jon and take him back to Winterfell.

Gendry decides to take Arya back to Winterfell. But he stops at the inn again, and Hot Pie tells him everyone knows the gossip – the Princess is in love with Prince Joffrey. For reasons his angsty heart only just realizes, Gendry is devastated and broods all the way down the mountain as he and Nymeria race to get Arya to Joffrey.

Meanwhile, Sansa wonders why Bran isn’t waking up and discovers Joffrey is poisoning him. She confronts Joffrey, and he reveals that he to the North to get the throne – he and his mother Cersei have always been resentful they won’t rule the Westerlands (his Uncle Jaime’s family is in line), so he came to find his own kingdom. Marrying Sansa meant he only had to get Bran out of the way – and these distastrous, messed-up Starks offered him the perfect opportunity.

Joffrey imprisons Sansa, telling everyone that his fiancée has succumbed to the same madness as her cousin, and he will act as the interim ruler on her behalf until Arya and Bran return or recover. (And if they never do, well, Joffrey and the future child he’ll have with Sansa can take care of things oki doki cool).

Gendry makes it to Winterfell, and hands the unconscious Arya to Joffrey – telling him the Kiss of True Love needed, and he knows he and the Princess love each other. (Joffrey’s like “ah yup ofc, her, my true love.”) Gendry leaves, though Nymeria sticks around and does Not Seem Happy About All This for some reason.

Jon and Ghost manage to break out of the cell and head out into the blizzard.

Arya warms up enough to wake up, and Joffrey reveals everything, leaving her to die. Arya is just like ffs, this family needs to get things together. Nymeria helps her escape and she sends Nymeria to get Gendry – who Arya would bet is her True Love which she would have said before HAD ANYONE ALLOWED HER TO GET A WORD IN EDGEWAYS BEFORE COLLAPSING.

Nymeria reaches Gendry, and persuades him to head back for Arya. (Don’t ask me how she does this – a lot of barking I guess).

Now shit’s really going down –

Joffrey tracks Jon out on the ice, gloating to him that he killed Arya. Jon falls apart, not wanting to live in a world without his little sister.  

An-almost-but-not-dead-yet Arya stumbles through the blizzard – she sees Gendry & Nymeria charging over to save her…and Joffrey about to kill Jon. She draws Needle and throws herself in front of Jon to take the blow as the ice reaches her heart and she freezes.

Gendry, Nymeria and Jon all cry because holy shit, no no no no no not Arya.

…But as well all know, that 100% was an Act of True Love, and Arya unfreezes. Group Hug time!!!  

Jon realizes love was the answer and finally Lets His Feelings Go, and ends the winter. More Hugs.

The gang arrest Joffrey, throw out Littlefinger, free Sansa and Bran wakes up. Sansa punches Joffrey in the face, Bran ascends as King, Arya kisses Gendry (which miraculously stops him brooding for like a whole day), and Jon creates snow wolves for Bran and Sansa as well.

They all celebrate together and Jon tells Arya he’ll never shut her out again.

Happy Endings and Good Time Commence.

** Rickon, I’m sorry that you don’t exist in this AU, but you’d just be another obstacle for Joffrey to kill.

*** The Westerlands sends a new ambassador – Prince Tyrion – who is very apologetic about his nephew and everyone agrees he’s a fine upgrade.

**** Room for a sequel featuring the gang going Beyond the Wall or Over the Sea? where Jon’s father is from & ruled by Princess Daenerys. There’s a team up to gain control of all the elements – Jon is the fifth element/bridge, Arya takes Water, Dany - Fire, Bran could have Earth or Air. Depending on which way he goes, Tyrion takes Earth or Sansa takes Air.
