okay so… maybe I’m weird for thinking this but a piece of media being “good” or “bad” is a subjective experience! it is LITERALLY an opinion! a person who thoroughly enjoys something and thinks it’s a good piece of media won’t be able to “admit” it’s actually bad because, in their experience, it isn’t! you can’t speak to the quality of something for EVERYONE because not everyone determines quality in the same way! just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it objectively a Bad Product™, and just because you do like it doesn’t make it objectively a Good Product™ because it’s an inherently subjective concept and I don’t think that should be difficult to grasp! people are not monolithic

you can certainly enjoy something and still think it’s bad, and you can dislike something while acknowledging it’s merits, and you can even love something and think it’s good while being aware of its flaws because being flawed doesn’t make it necessarily bad, but that still only applies to YOU and it is not universal! you don’t need to understand why someone thinks something you thought was bad is actually good, just let individuals have their own experience with things!!! if you are interested in someone else’s experience with the same piece of media as you, feel free to inquire about it, but don’t try to convince them out of their joy just because you’re unhappy with whatever the product is!
