Chronic illness is disappointment. It’s cancelled plans and loneliness and isolation. It’s being afraid to make commitments in case you have to say no. It is saying no even if you really want to go out or do something. It’s apologies over having to cancel plans. It’s hoping people won’t get tired of you telling them you can’t go out. It’s laying in bed while knowing if you felt better you could be doing something else. It’s wishing you didn’t have to say no.
