Scene from a Dream: the Second Star

The night you came to us

Face hidden, cast in shame

The land was awash in starlight

But you were not to blame

(For what are we if not falling stars?)

I feel like there are 6 types of crossovers:

1. I.U.C. (In Universe Crossovers): The crossover where characters are from the same universe but also have there own separate lives.

Ex: Marvel, DC, Real Life

2. T.T.C. (Time Travel Crossovers): This type is mostly used to bring to people who are in the same universe but at different points in time.

Ex: Doctor Who, Back to the Future

3. A.R.C. (Alternative Reality Crossover): Ever hear of multiverse theory...good. You crossover with yourself/friends that have made different decisions in life.

Ex: Spiderverse, Hyrule Warriors

4. T.D.C (Trans Dimensional Crossover): Arguably the most common this takes two or more completely separate universes and puts them together

Ex: Super Smash Bros, SNK vs Capcom

5. S.C.C. (Same company crossover): When you are lucky enough to own multiple Franchises with their own set of fandoms you slap them together just because.

Ex: Timmy/Jimmy Power Hour, Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion

6. F.U.C. (Fused Universe Crossover) This isn’t done too often (officially anyway), but this crossover type is when you take two different people and make them one.

Ex: Amalgam Comics, Infinity Warps

So which ones are your favorite and did I miss any

As a college student, currently really hungry with nothing to eat, I understand how hard it can be to get food. Sometimes you really just don’t have the money to eat and when you do, you waste it all on fast food instead of stocking up on cheap things because you’re so tired of Ramen Noodes and canned food you could barf. So, I’ve composed a list of recipes and resources that will fit a college kid’s budget and appetite. Don’t go hungry! <3

imma say it. “kung fu panda” did more for body positivity and saying that  you can be fat and still be healthy and liked than ANYTHING any beauty companies trying to get your money.

kfp also respects women more than any beauty company too.

also it had a positive relationship between an adopted child and his stepfather even after he found out he was adopted

Hey yknow how Viper was born without fangs, but instead of being rendered helpless as her family thought she’d be, she instead used her other skills to become the best warrior in her clan?

And how Tigress had severe, destructive anger issues when she was younger, but instead of being painted as a “problem child” she was instead taught her how to channel her emotions into something constructive?

And how Crane trained extra hard to impress a girl, and was by all rights the hero of his own story, but he still didn’t get her in the end? And how the girl isn’t shamed for it?

It’s almost as if you get more mileage out of treating your characters (and the people they resemble) with compassion than you do just shamelessly stamping them with your own misconceptions and hang ups.

I’m honestly kind of shocked how well-written this cartoon about Jack Black as a panda ended up being, but kudos to KFP!

Reminder that “processing trauma” doesn’t just mean “talk about the traumatic shit that happened to you” (especially if you aren’t ready to do that yet). It also means:

  • Giving yourself time, safety, and rest. Letting your brain learn how to feel safe again by giving it a safe place to rest and recover. Rediscovering the feeling of peace is a fundamental part of recovery.
  • Examining your day-to-day feelings. (Not just your feelings about what happened in the past, but the way you feel just in general, day-to-day.) Observing and understanding your present emotions, the things you are struggling with, the things that are getting easier, recognizing the good, the bad, and the gray.
  • Identifying triggers and brainstorming ways to avoid them.
  • Identifying goals, concrete or otherwise. (E.g. my goal is to have more good days this month than last month, to have fewer days spent in bed, to have fewer moments of panic, to be a little happier and feel a little more safe.)
  • Mapping progress
  • Talking about your fears & negative feelings is important. But you can start by talking about your desires & hopes for the future. In therapy, you get to choose what to talk about, and how far the conversation goes.
  • Reminding yourself that you are working to overcome obstacles specifically because there are good things waiting ahead.

Recovery is a journey, and everyone carves a slightly different path. You don’t have to follow step-by-step instructions, as long as you learn how to keep moving forward.
