Seeking help with my Mother’s nearly 2k Ambulance Bill

My followers and friends may remember my past posts about this, namely the issue with Walmart not aiding my mother when she had a severe panic attack/near stroke in one of their stores. Since then she has had four separate attacks ranging in severity and all needing an ambulance to the ER.

The ER has worked with us and we owe nothing to them, HOWEVER the city ambulances services have not been helping and we really need this bill paid.

We currently owe $1,677.00

If you suffer from anxiety, I hope you can understand where we are coming from. We would not ask if we didn’t need to. We can’t afford this.

Please Help My Partner Leave Her Abusive Stepfather!

My name is Snark. My partner Moonie and I have been separated since the start of the pandemic. Only physically, mind you, as we’re just as in love as ever. I originally came home to my family in Ohio to help out with one emergency, only to get stuck here. Since then a lot has happened. I’ve been hospitalized twice from anemia, told I need surgery for my hiatal hernia– the cause of my anemia– and just in general have had difficulty surviving.

This plea, however, isn’t about that. I wouldn’t be asking for help if it weren’t for Moonie’s sake.

My wife just lost her mother to cancer. It has been a battle for months, and on Halloween she passed. Since then she has been alone in the middle of a small town in Pennsylvania with her step-father. That man is an inconsiderate monster. He’s an alcoholic, he leaves her alone to fend for herself for long stretches of hours at a time, and sometimes will just feel like not wanting to take care of anything and just bounce. Only thing he ever puts effort into is making her life more inconvenient. 

My wife Moonie is also disabled. Her mother was the one who has had control of her finances and was her guardian as she’s been disabled since childhood.

She is now not able to even get into her bank accounts because it was under her mother’s name. Social Security offices are full right now, pushing back dates on all appointments, not only hers. Moonie is alone, grieving from losing her support system, her mother, and is alone with a man that mistreats her.

I want to fix that and move her to my mother’s home in Ohio.

As I said before, I am also disabled. Have been since my 9 back surgeries in 2005. At 13 years old. We’re both dumb adults who know nothing about life, but love each other dearly. I have saved up a 1000 dollars, but that isn’t enough. Moonie needs to be out of there now.

This is why we need your help.

I want to raise an additional 3000 dollars so we can do the cross state trip. That is 9 hours there, then 9 hours back. We need a moving company to help with getting our things.

My mother is helping with the move, she will be helping us with switching our SS information to Ohio where we can start the process of grieving and healing. Also, furries are one of the best and most generous when it comes to supporting artists. When they commission an artist to draw something, they as a group tend to pay the best rates and be the most reliable. 

Also furry communities are overwhelmingly queer - like statistically, I mean, just for example, the number of transgender furries is ten times higher than the general population, and like only 1 in 4 furries are straight.

Which is like? Firstly, not a surprise that something steeped in alter-ego resonates for queer people, especially trans people.

And secondly, also super not surprising that it’s a community that is massively oversexualized and denigrated as sexually deviant. Like, js it’s a tale as old as time to target an overlapping interest group as a guise to target a minority demographic. 

And targeting sexual shaming at queer-dense populations, hah! HAH, I’m not surprised.

I’m not even goddamn kidding, seriously. A huge chunk of bullying directed at the furry community is just socially acceptable queerphobia.

Don’t forget that a lot of furry hate is just rebranded hatred for autistic people, who are a decent sized chunk of the furry community.

Help me pay my mother’s 4k medical bill (and stick it to Walmart while you’re at it)

Hello masters of spook, I really don’t know any other way to ask this, but we (my mother and I) need help. Not too long ago she had what can only be described as a major panic attack, with the possibility of stroke (we can’t rule it out) She was shopping at Walmart for a shut in friend when it happened and the employees were absolutely awful to her, no one even came with the code was called over the intercom. She got more help from other customers, than Walmart – and “wally world” isn’t gonna pay a dime of her bill. She had to take an ambulance about a block away to the ER and was alone for her time there, my dad refused to go back and find her (that’s a long story) and only my brother came to her help. I was out of town at the time, otherwise I would have been at her side too. I feel really guilty about not being there, and this is my way of helping.

Her bill is 4k and some number. Right now I’m trying to do this in secret to surprise her, as I don’t really know she wants a gofundme or to even make it public on facebook. If you could send some money to either my paypal, or my kofi (the latter earns you a request of any type of content, from edits to headcanons or drabbles) it would mean a a hella lot.

The thing is, even when you get older, it doesn’t stop. Not only do you carry the baggage from when you were younger and everything you did was a joke, purely because you were fat, but you get out into the world and there are still people stifling laughs behind their hands. You can see that look, the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it panning of the eyes down to your stomach and then back to your face with a raised eyebrow. Or when they get mad at you for existing in THEIR space, in public space. You can see it when you’re at the gym, people getting mad at you being there, or laughing at the silly floppy fat trying to work out. You see it on television, where it doesn’t matter how progressive or diverse the show is, there’s always at least ONE joke implying that being fat is associated with stupidity, slowness, lack of awareness, being obnoxious, being greedy.

And to cap it all off, if you complain, you have people pull the Morally Superior card, saying they’re “just being honest”, ‘just trying to help’, ‘just want you to be healthy’. Or ‘If you don’t like it, just lose the weight’, or ‘maybe it’ll motivate you to get healthy’. Saying, “I’m hurting. I’m crying. I deserve humanity” is replied to with, “But do you, though?”

It’s hard to maintain confidence in a world that reminds you at nearly every turn that you are a joke. So if you have a confident fat friend, someone who manages to do all those things that they’ll inevitably get laughed at for? Please appreciate them.

I have not seen any evidence tonsugges they are harmed or die in the process of production. They do regurgitate the nectar as part of the process to concentrate it into honey (an interesting process) but they do not suffer any injury during this process. If they did, the cost to produce honey, which is done naturally as a measure to survive over winter and through times of lower availability, would outweigh the benefits. If you kill several bees to produce enough honey to make one more bee, It makes no sense. Any animal that did that would die, even with human intervention.

Bee farmers use whats called a honey maker. It’s a crude devices. It similar to a meat grinder. They force the bees in and grind them up. What comes out is a paste. That paste is later filtered into what we know as honey

Vegans coming after beekeepers is one of my major teeth grinding annoyances. For many reasons, because there’s so many lies. And to go one step further because it’s such a waste. You see, the strongest vegan argument is that they don’t want to exploit animals or take from them without their consent.

… but… Bees consent. NO. I’M NOT KIDDING.

How? Bee hives aren’t kept on leashes. They’re outside, the bees can travel miles every day. They follow their queen. Who is also outside, not on a leash, and can travel miles every day. If she doesn’t like the hive for any reason - for example: it got too hot, too cold, too messy, too filled with sugary stuff and they need more space… then the queen leaves. And with her the hive.

The queen stays in the hive because the hive is the best place to live. Period. Done. End of. If the hive is staying with the beekeeper it’s because the keeper is doing their job correctly and keeping them happy because the bees can, and do, leave bad beekeepers.

Of all the animals we have domesticated as livestock, bees are the ones you can most easily argue are consenting participants in their keeping.

You can’t just tell people to ‘get a VPN (Virtual Private Network)’. Buying a VPN is like buying a house. It’s very very important. Having no VPN or having a ‘wrong’ one can seriously damage your life. Especially for Americans because their privacy laws are garbage. I am going to try explain why you should get a VPN but bare with me, I am from Germany and my English is far from perfect. 

Let’s start with a simple test. Click this link here: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ It will tell your IP adres, your ISP (internet service provider), and your location. The location might not be very accurate, but then again, it’s just a simple website. Imagine what the government can do!

So basically, everyone can find out where you live. But there is more danger. Your ISP. Your ISP logs your every move online and they are required to keep it in case the government wants access to it (or if a 3rd party wants to buy your data (yikes). They have everything. What websites you visit. How long you stay on a website. What you download. Your search terms. European laws are more subtle on this but if you are from the US you are #@*#&, especially because Trump doesn’t support the open internet. It’s scary but maybe in the future you can’t get a job because the recruiter knows your searched on ‘how to deal with depression’ or anythings else that’s supposed to be private because it’s your f*cking right. Or you get a $100k fine because you pirated a movie 15 years ago. You need a VPN. You’re dumb for not using one. but what does a VPN do?

A VPN encrypts all your data so if it were be intercepted no one can ‘crack the code’ and damage your privacy. 

Usually being online goes like this (simplified): Your computer —-> ISP (—–> keeps data —–> sells it)

But with a VPN it goes like: Your computer —–> VPN (encrypts data)—–> ISP (ISP can’t see shit)

Furthermore, a VPN hides your IP address and location by giving you another IP address located in Spain for example (you can often choose from a list and change as many times as you want).  

Now that you know why you should get a VPN and what is does it is important to educate yourself because people often choose the wrong VPN. VPN providers are also businesses and have to obey the law. If you choose a VPN provider located in the US then you are throwing your money away because the laws in the US shits on your privacy. If the US gov wants the provider to give all their logs they have to obey.  The ISP  still can’t see what you are doing online and sell your data but the US gov can interfere with your VPN provider so NEVER CHOOSE A PROVIDER LOCATED IN THE US. 

I just wanted to make that very clear so my followers don’t buy false security.

There is still more danger!  Who says your VPN provider isn’t selling your data? You need to check their logging policy. Do they keep logs? If yes, what for? For how long do they keep them? Tip: Choose a provider who doesn’t keep logs

More about law  The US is part of the Five Eyes program (the worst):  

The Five Eyes, often abbreviated as FVEY, is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These countries are bound by the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence (source)

There is also a Nine Eyes (bit better) and Fourteen Eyes Program (better).  You don’t want a VPN provider who is located in one the Five Eyes countries.  If you had to choose go for a provider located in a country that’s part of the Fourteen Eyes Program or even better, go for a country that isn’t part of any program! 

I know this is a shitty explanation and please pardon my english but now it’s time to do your own research. Take your privacy seriously. Maybe WWIII breaks out and you get killed for liking the ‘wrong’ FB-page.

Make sure that your future VPN provider both has green boxes for Privacy Jurisdiction and Privacy Logging. 

I recommend ovpn.se and trust.zone. ovpn is located in Sweden so they are part of the 14 Eyes Program and they keep minimal logs. Their business ethics, however, are alright. 

Trustzone is located in the Seychelles. No country can interfere and their privacy jurisdiction is the best you can get. The US want your data but needs to get it from Trustzone? The Seychelles will simply give them the finger and wave them goodbye. However, this makes this provider very appealing for people who torrent and criminals because they keep no logs (and that is how it shoud be) Also,  there are almost no marketing efforts so this provider is one the cheapest)

Also, often providers such as ExpressVPN are being called ‘The Best’ on websites about VPNs but know that this is just marketing which also makes those provider more expensive (and they too shit on your privacy)

This must be the worst article you have ever read but please, please take your privacy very seriously.

EDIT: I got many people asking me which provider I use. For those who want to know, I use Trust Zone. They offer a free 3-day trial with no strings attached. But still do your own research! 

I am also with Trustzone but I think you forgot to explain one of it’s most important features. It protects you when you are using someone else’s Wi-Fi. If you are at Starbucks and you use their Wi-Fi your privacy is at risk. Anyone with ill intentions could steal your information. Especially if you are using an unsecured Wi-Fi hotspot. With a VPN your data gets encrypted so no one can steal it. 

Wait, what’s going, on? Did trump destroy internet privacy with a bill or something? Where’s the news? Oh wait, why am I getting visions of Alex Jones and selling water purifiers?

He hasn’t yet but he says he wants to. And if he is serious about it it would be really easy to do. Since all our data is already recorded, as the person above explained.

Trump wants more surveillance of Muslim Americans. This in a country where internet privacy is already close to non-existent. 

Trust.Zone has a free trial. Use it.
