Yes you can make a good life for yourself pretty much anywhere but after spending like a month back in my hometown I am ready to get out of here again I don’t appreciate this place more than I used to it still needs a lot of work and I’m not the sort of guy who fixes things so goodbye and yeehaw
If you’re the sort of person who likes to stick with a community no matter what to make it a better place I respect the hell out of you and you’re a much better person than I am because I will hit the road. Hit the skies. Hit the tracks. I keep enough cash in my wallet at all times to take a bus ride to the train station and skip town. I will hit the bricks and leave the situation. I am not a politician or that good of a dude. Goodbye. Next city please.
Speaking from experience I can say with some confidence that occasionally the grass is in fact greener on the other side.
Not always. I mean you’re still gonna be you in the next town over. Can’t get away from that. But sometimes the place you’re in isn’t right for you and it’s time to pack your bags and move away.
there is a demon in your house named CARBON MONOXIDE. he enchants your mind with confusion and your body with exhaustion. you need to call a powerful exorcist named HVAC TECHNICIAN
one of the things that's driving me nuts about the current supreme court is that
the people in charge of Precedents Everything Is Build On keep going "oh stop being dramatic this doesn't set any kind of precedent everything is build on!' when they rule on precedents everything is build on.
don't get me wrong I have a lot of issues with this court and it's bullshit but that one is the one I am in this exact moment frothing about.
humans don’t have enough ornamentation. where’s the plumage, the antlers
i could go for a good vibrant throat sac i could display as i sing in the mating season
Humans have some of the most extreme hair variation over their bodies in the animal kingdom, with hair on some parts of our body a few millimetres long and fine enough to be almost invisible, and hair in other parts a good metre long if not artificially trimmed. Part of the inside of our mouths are turned out to make our lips bright red, we have comically oversized breasts and lack penis bones to make erections more indicative of impressive circulation, and have some of the most complex behavioural adaptations to self-ornamentation for courtship seen in anything that doesn’t spend half its life collecting blue bottle caps. How much ornamentation do you want?
I’d like antlers, as previously stated
I want bioluminescence
Sonar
Flared webbing would be nice
I'm fascinated by how the formatting of different social media sites affect how text is read.

the amount of people who have said something like "id rather be called a faggot than queer" makes it clear its not actually about "reclaiming a slur" its about queer being cringey and associated with weirdos who have opinions like "bi lesbians are cool and literally always have been" and "exclusionism is a traumatizing waste of time psyop"
Bi lesbians are simply anyone who finds both the label "bi" and "lesbian" to be useful to describe themselves.
One person may use it to describe being attracted to both women and other genders, but centering their relationships/identity around women. Another may use it to describe being in a relationship with a man, even though their sexuality is otherwise exclusively geared towards other women. Someone else may use it to describe both being a woman who loves other women and also someone who loves multiple genders, because both are equally important to them. And yet another may have romantic attraction to women but sexual attraction to women & other genders (and yes, people can feel that way without it being internalized lesbophobia.)
The idea that "bisexual" (or other mspec sexualities) is the only sexual label that allows for nuance is recent. "Lesbian" has always been inclusive of both women who aren't exclusively attracted to other women, and people whose relationship with gender is more complicated than "assigned-female woman." Part of this has been, of course, the lack of knowledge or community for bisexuals and trans* people. But even after these communities formed, people still willingly identified with lesbianism because why shouldn't they? For many it had been a home where they had found community, for many it is still a fundamental part of how they understand themselves and relate to others.
Personally, I consider myself a "bi lesbian" (although its not usually the label I choose when talking to strangers, and its certainly not the only label) because I am multigender. I am attracted to multiple genders; when I am attracted to women, it is also very much in a queer way (and I personally enjoy the "queer attraction to women" definition of lesbianism), and I also found my home in lesbianism & butchhood before anything else. I could call myself "just bi" or "just lesbian," but that would fail to paint a whole picture of my relationship with sexuality.
(also, not that a label needs to be historical to be valid, but "bi lesbian" is a old term. its been around for ages. and the rejection of this label cannot be disconnected from radical feminists- the same ones who said that transfems were invaders and transmascs were traitors).
Labels are not about (or shouldn't be about) fitting a definition. The definition of a label is an attempt to capture the vast beauty of a label into a sentence or two so it can be explained to people who don't understand it, and it will always fail in some regard. A famous sex-positive activist identified as a straight bisexual lesbian to fuck with identity on purpose; the world of identity is has always been a lot more interesting than exclusionist assholes on tumblr would have you believe.
Some people will also argue that bi lesbians promote the stereotypes that "all lesbians are really bisexual" or "bisexuality is a phase." I have absolutely no tolerance for this. This logic would mean that women who identify as lesbians before realizing they are attracted to men should stay in the closet, since they "promote" the idea that women who aren't attracted to men can be changed. By this logic, polyamorous bisexuals should force themselves to be monogamous, because they "promote" the idea that real bisexuals need to have relationships with men and women, and aroallo bisexuals must have romantic relationships because we "promote" the idea that bisexuals are all vain sluts who can't commit. Suggesting that queer people are morally responsible for defying stereotypes can never be anything but queerphobic. Lesbophobic straight men do not need an excuse to harass lesbians.
Idk the whole “straight people are the majority of population” not only makes homophobes think this is an argument that straight is the norm and anything outside of it isn’t normal, but I’m pretty sure it’s simply not true.
We first have to consider how many LGBTQ+ people are in the closet, so they wouldn’t publicly say they aren’t straight, therefore they’re counted as straight even though they aren’t.
We also have to consider how fucking heteronormative this society is and how many people just haven’t figured out their identity maybe because people keep pushing them to be straight, or because they’re afraid to explore their sexuality.
I just think reproducing the speech that straight people are the majority doesn’t help at all, not only because it’s probably not true, but it contributes to people treating us as if we’re the ones being abnormal.
Out of all sexualities that exist I simply don’t believe being straight is the majority. I do believe a lot of people who think they’re straight are in the multisexual spectrum, but considering they’ve never explored that other part of their identity because they’re still attracted to the opposite gender, they simply haven’t figured that out. Not to mention how I think there’s way more people out there who’re either in the ace spectrum or aro spectrum, and how many more gays and lesbians who’re being pushed to like the opposite gender are out there.

"You don't love your kids. Love is unconditional, what you do is very conditional. 'Be exactly how I want you to be or I'm not gonna love you. You don't fucking love your kids. Don't you dare pretend, don't you tell them that you love them without meaning it, that's fucked up."
First humans ever to leave the solar system suddenly drop out of communications and the ship can't be found with any equipment. After one month of no contact their home countries start reluctantly holding funerals for the space heroes only for them all to turn up, healthy, well fed and extremely disoriented, in the middle of Tokyo, talking about alien abduction. Turns out that aliens found the poor humans straying out of their solar system, presumably lost, and took them to Alien Wildlife Rehabilitation before dumping them back in the middle of their native habitat.
I literally just googled "city with the highest population"
I’ll bet they have cool new tattoos that turn out to be tracking devices too. Just in case these spirited individuals try to make another break for it.
... do the tats make them stupid popular, like that time scientists gave birds tracker anklets and it accidentally made them ultra fuckable
Let’s say yes. Those alien scientists are learning so much, and none of it is accurate.
What they're learning from the trackers can't possibly be any less accurate than what they're learning from remote observation of untagged specimens in their native habitat (via watching out TV broadcasts)
can’t talk now- imagining an alien scientist coming up to me and speaking in a calm, steady voice and saying words I don’t understand but know mean that I’m not in danger
