New goods celebrate Seiji’s Birthday
The store at Nakano Broadway, Hakaba, the store that showcased the 30th anniversary gallery and sold the first batch of exclusive goods, is celebrating Seiji’s/Sage’s birthday!
The first 100 shoppers to spend over 10,000 yen on the new goods will receive the exclusive illustration (below) made and signed by the armor designer, Hideo Okamoto!
Let’s check out the goodies, shall we?
First up is a canvas with this image of Seiji printed on it for 3,000 yen (~$30). It’s described as being 275mm x 275mm (~10.827in x 10.827in).
Next, we’ve got new t-shirts. There are three colors to choose from, a dark green (top image), white (middle image), and black (last image). Each shirt has Seiji’s insignia on the right sleeve, the samurai troopers logo on the tag, and the samurai troopers helmet logo on the back of the t-shirt just under the collar. They’ll sell for 4,000 yen (~$40) each and come in Japanese sizes XS to XXL.
Here we have something that translated to “Glass Hair Rubber”. I’m gonna go ahead and theorize that it means it’s a hair tie. The glass piece has Seiji’s insignia (possibly gold ink or gold vinyl?) on a green patterned background, and is 35mm in diameter (~1.378in). It’ll be 600 yen (~$6).
These are 10 different keychain designs. On one side is a quote from Seiji in Japanese; on the other side is the samurai troopers logo next to an image of Seiji from one of the episodes. These are sold in a blind box, meaning you won’t get to pick which one you receive; it’ll be random. The keychains are 15mm x 66mm (~0.6in x 2.6in), and will be sold for 500 yen a piece (~$5).
Last but not least, a Seiji-themed luggage tag for 1,500 yen (~$15). It has a silhouette of Seiji in his armor against a green patterned background. The samurai troopers logo and Seiji’s insignia are also on it.
So! Happy birthday to Seiji/Sage! BUT, that’s not all!!! These additional goods aren’t Seiji-themed, but they are going to be new and will sell alongside his goods:
Here we have an “eco” bag; which I’m guessing is a reusable bag, that has all samurai troopers and warlord insignias in silver repeating on it as a pattern on a black background. It comes with a carrying pouch as well that has the samurai troopers logo on one side and the silhouette of the group on the other. The pouch also appears to have a handy clip. The bag itself is 57cm x 47cm (~22.44in x 18.5in), and the pouch is 12cm x 9cm (~4.725in x 3.54in). It’ll be sold for 1,800 yen (~$18).
This goodie is another canvas print of the troopers from the first OVA. It’s not a shot from the episodes themselves, but one of those promotional illustrations that used to be made. It’s 242mm x 333mm (~9.528in x 13.11in), and is 3,500 yen (~$35).
Here we’ve got another t-shirt!! This off-white t-shirt features the silhouette of the troopers in the armor against a blue-purple gradient circle. The samurai trooper helmet logo appears above them in pink while sakura petals scatter in front of the troopers. “Yoroiden Samurai Troopers” is written underneath in English. The tag sports the samurai troopers logo, and the back of the t-shirt has the five trooper insignias appearing just under the collar. It’ll sell for 4,000 yen (~$40) each and come in Japanese sizes XS to XXL
Last of the new items is another luggage tag, this one matches the eco reusable bag with the samurai troopers and warlord insignias in silver repeating on it as a pattern on a black background. It’ll be 1,500 yen ($15).
Phew! That’s a lot of new goodies and was quite a surprise to find!
The goods should be available online, and the store does ship internationally (though with the pandemic, I’m not sure if that’s still available at the moment). Also, to get the exclusive Seiji illustration, I think you’re going to need a Japanese address, but I’m not 100% sure on that; we’ll have to wait and see.
Lastly the store still has some goods from the 30th anniversary available online. Those items are (going to be?) at a discounted price, so do check them out!
