Away with the Wee Folk

O, I forbid you Maidens all that wear Gold in your Hair to come or go by Carterhaugh for Young Tam Lin is there.

I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who joined our October Questions Game these past few weeks.

I've been unwell and have fallen a behind on my responses. But I do see all your replies and asks and am planning to get to all of them over the next while. So do keep an eye out. And please, feel free to send in answers for any of the questions you missed. I'll keep reaponding until there isn't anything left to reapond to.

I treasure all you lovely folks. Happy Hallowe'en. And Happy All Hallows Day.

Hey, fellow fantasy nerds, I invite you to vibe along to this lesser known early 2000s fantasy banger

Don’t mind me, I’m just getting emotional about the way trans elder and renn faire musician Alexander James Adams conceptualizes his relationship to his pre-transition self, Heather Alexander:

“Heather was a changeling. In 2006 she was called back to faerieland and Alec, the child in whose place she had originally been left, was released after beating the faerie queen in a fiddling contest. Thus, Alec now carries on Heather’s musical legacy as her appointed heir.”

God…. good for him :’)

This tag is the highest honor I could ever receive.

One of my friends is a skilled folk fiddler, and she has remarked that Alexander plays distinctively differently than Heather did.

The story of his trans identity can be heard in the song He of the Sidhe

I love you violence I love you descent into madness I love you transformations into an unrecognizable self I love you monsters who were human I love you questioning if I’ve changed or been like this all along I love you being scared I love you secrets I love you twisted coming of age stories
