The thing that going to therapy has taught me is that labels are labels. You can choose them if they feel right, yes. But there are labels people will assign to you for convenience. For ease of access. To know how they should treat you.

And a diagnosis is one of those labels.

A diagnosis isn't a bad thing automatically but it is a label that's assigned to you so people have a general idea of your symptoms.

You can experience symptoms without a diagnosis. They don't appear out of nothing.

And sometimes a diagnosis is the last thing you want. If you're somebody like me who already has four and counting. Because what will your employer do? What does this mean for your independence in the future?

So don't shit on people who don't fit the mold. They know themselves best.

[Image ID: two gifs of a person showing a handmade leather journal. On the front is a decoration of a crescent moon in front of the sun with an eye in the center on a blue backdrop with golden circles and stars. On the back is a sun shaped opening that also shows a blue background and a crescent moon on the same pattern of golden circles. The sun on the front of the journal can be slid upwards, revealing a compartment that hides the key to unlock the journal. End ID.]

i dont think you realize how insulting it is to systems that you support "endogenics"

Hey guess what

I know systems. Systems who fakeclaimed me and others and caused severe psychological distress to the point I was put back into psychiatry/therapy to deal with traumatic stress disorder related symptoms.

I also know systems who are kind. Who are welcoming. Who don't fakeclaim others. And I'm on their side.

hey! traumagen system here! the "endogenic vs traumagenic" debate is an extension of trauma olympics- if you're not "traumatized" enough, you're called out as a fake. it just turns into a show of people trying to prove that they are, in fact, traumatized.

at the end of the day, everyone's better off supporting all types of systems- even endogenics. because guess what! some endogenics may *actually* be traumagenics, and some traumagenics may *actually* be endogenics! you really can't be sure just by taking someone's claim at face value!

when you go out of your way to tell a person that their experiences aren't valid, that they can't express theirselves in the way that works best for them, *you* become the asshole! it's really not hard to just leave people alone.
