it’s just a sharp day, that’s all, and i am a thin slice from a bad place. i came a whisper from crying because a bird stood in a puddle. things are too real and not real at all, a fog that knows only a single song lyric, but never one i can quite catch. i know it will be okay. i will go home and shower and rest and wake up to a different dawn and a new skin. but here, and now. and wanting a hug but knowing the touch of another person would lay me raw and wanting to love but being too soft for it and wanting peace but forgetting how to find it. it’s just been long, that’s all. it’s just… been long. and a slight breeze would tip me to falling.
