“Do you want anything to eat?” “No.” “What about just something to drink then?” “No.” “Kurt please it‘s been days?” Only silence. “Kurt?” Blaine whispered rubbing his hand up and down Kurt’s side as Kurt’s body began to tremble with a fresh wave of tears - Blaine hadn‘t thought it possible. “I don’t understand… it’s not fair!” Kurt finally cried brokenly pressing his cheek against Blaine’s thigh as his fingers curled tightly into the fabric of Blaine’s pants and he curled in on himself even more. Blaine clenched his jaw tightly and he blinked back his own tears. He hated seeing Kurt like this. It hurt so much Blaine literally felt like his heart was being ripped to pieces. He would willingly take a knife to the chest if it would simply take this pain away from Kurt. “I know baby… I know…” Blaine whispered instead, lips pressed against the side of Kurt’s feverish head, because that was all he could do. “They - they said we were next on the list. They - they said it was our turn. They promised they wouldn’t take it back this time. Why would they give it to us only to take it back? Why would they do that?” Kurt had literally made himself sick worrying about this. They had waited years. The papers had been merely hours away from going through… only to be rejected at the last second. Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt’s shaking shoulders as sobs wracked his far too skinny body. It scared Blaine to see how much weight Kurt had lost due to the stress. “I don’t know why… I don‘t know…” he replied helplessly finally feeling his own tears fall. Blaine wanted so badly to do something - to fix this for Kurt, but he just didn’t know how. Kurt’s trembling hand reached across their bed and pulled the soft blue blanket to his chest, clutching it tightly. “I want my baby back,” he gasped painfully, whole body convulsing, barely able to catch his breath. Blaine slid from under Kurt’s head before laying down beside him and gathering Kurt to him, wrapping him up in his arms and legs and body, as Kurt‘s sobs grew louder and louder until they were all Blaine could hear. He looked over Kurt’s shoulder at the white crib they’d set up months ago in preparation, that only days ago had held the beautiful baby boy they’d brought home from the hospital two weeks ago - now empty and bare just like they were.
*___* thank you for this amazing fic, I don’t deserve it.

This just broke my heart.  I mean that quite sincerely.
