I’m getting a heartbreaking amount of people in my notes saying that they’d make a Spider-OC but they just can’t draw, they suck at drawing, they’re not good at art, they can’t make art
listen
I draw like, two things. Dinosaurs and horses. Somebody already drew a spider-saur. so. that really only leaves
just draw what you draw

sometimes I randomly think about the time a girl posted in this girls only Facebook group I’m in telling everyone how she broke up with her boyfriend and he lied saying that he lost the spare key she gave him, only to then break into her apartment when she wasn’t home and steal the cat they’d adopted while they were together, but then he denied having done this and she didn’t really have proof that he took the cat since he wouldn’t let her come into his place and look for it. And then another girl saw this post and knew her ex-boyfriend, and she was like “girl. I used to hook up with your mans back in xxxx and I still have his number. If you want, I’ll hit him up and get him to invite me back to his place and see if your cat’s there.” And the OP was like “bet.”
So this woman hit up homie dog, asked him out for drinks, went home with him, slept with him, and then woke up in the middle of the night and TOOK THE CAT. Like she had only said that she would confirm if the cat was there but then she took it upon herself to steal this woman’s cat back. Like she full on Trojan horsed this man and then hit up homegirl like “I got the goods. Where you wanna meet.” And then the two of them posted a photo of them together with the cat to the group.
And I just think women supporting women is so beautiful.

this is why you should care about the reddit strike
Just want to mention some background thoughts about Reddit and the current strike:
1) It is a strike, in the leadup to this, entire subreddits voted to mark themselves as private to protest the recent/proposed API change. If Reddit wants to stay up it will either need to meet its users' API needs (which I think means free to use, not just for advertisers, or whatever) or it will have to break faith even further and remove the 'private' option, (which I think is not feasible because some fraction of private subreddits are private because keeping nsfw content away from people who have not been vetted as of age or consenting to see it or whatever.)
2) Reddit became a goto forum by being the most useful, and what made it most useful was a combination of accessibility and the fact that its algorithm tracked a reputation for helpfulness (or maybe that's just the feature its userbase chose to vote with it)
2b) Therefore, anyone wanting to go back to lots of small forums should concentrate on those two things: accessibility and helpfulness voting. (Is reddit's originally based on slashdot.org's free forum implementation, or is that an illusion that only makes sense from my tiny amount of interaction with both? Is that code still available?)
3) One of the odd features of Reddit gaining the monopoly on helpful foruming was that Google, whose original algorithm was based on counting links to and from pages and words in the context around those links. When all forums were Reddit but worse, link counting from everywhere was a good algorithm. Now with Reddit being the semi-monopoly, and one that rewards helpfulness, lately it's gotten to the point that you'll get better search results by mentioning Reddit. If there's a general Reddit diaspora, that trick may stop working, but (depending on the accessibility to web crawlers including Google's) perhaps Google's original 'one weird trick' will start working again.
Years ago I overheard (eavesdropped upon) a telephone conversation between a public parks official and a golf course owner.
Parks Official: No sir, you cannot
Parks Official: No. They are a protected species
Parks Official: You CANNOT shoot them
Parks Official: Or poison them, no. Or trap them
Parks Official: If you like, we can-- no, I'm it. I'm the ranking official here. There's nobody above me. My boss? You mean... the governor's office? Sure, I guess. Okay bye
After he hung up, he gave me this thousand-yard stare before answering my unvoiced question.
"There's a flock of flamingos at the 9th green disrupting golfers. He wanted permission to go out there with a shotgun and take care of matters, but sensed there might be... legal ramifications. So he called us."
I laughed. "Does that happen often?"
"Oh, we get calls like that a couple times a month."
Country clubs should be burned to the ground and their golf courses turned into community gardens i am 10000% serious
Was golf created for the sole purpose of hoarding ridiculously large amounts of land just to brag about how little they use it?
Yes, literally.
~To be forgotten is worse than death~
When we got news of the FFIX animated show a while back, you might say I was. Excited about this news
immediately had to draw my rat wife who i love with my entire heart and soul and will never forget about
the world would be so so bleak without some lesbian catching up on a show from almost two decades ago and making it all of her tumblr followers' business
I mentioned it before but it is very striking to me that as of the last tumblr update, there are now no (0) ways to open someone's desktop blog from a dashboard post. like you can't access the url dot tumblr dot com page at all now unless you already know it exists. imo this seems like a canary that personal blog pages will be gone very shortly, which would suck, since to me that is one of the only good things this site has going for it
Correction: you can still open the top-level URL.tumblr.com link from someone's avatar on the dashboard (so, someone you follow). Actually, I should specify. Here's a post on the dashboard with seven ways to access a post:
- Followed blog avatar: Hyperlink, opens in new tab, to URL1.tumblr.com.
- Reblogger URL: Hyperlink, opens in new tab, to tumblr.com/URL1.
- Reblogged-from URL: Same as #2, but to tumblr.com/URL2.
- Uhh... hitbox?: Whatever this is can't be opened in a new tab and doesn't even look like a link, but clicking on it opens the dashboard view of tumblr.com/URL1/post.
- Copy link under meatball menu: Not a hyperlink, but copies to the clipboard tumblr.com/URL1/post?trackinginfo.
- OP URL: Same as #2 and #3, but to tumblr.com/URL3.
- Other... hitbox... thing: Same as #4, but to tumblr.com/URL3/post.
So you can access the custom blog, but not a post on a custom blog, despite the plethora of links. Very annoying.
No, here’s the worst part: you can indeed get the link of the post you are clicking on and view it on the person’s custom blog!
IT’S JUST ON THE FUCKING MEATBALL MENU TIMESTAMP INSTEAD FOR SOME REASON I DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS SITE
oh my god
I love them, theyre a flaoting air freshener, I'll take 20.
