what happened was a mutual asked me if i had any childe/zhongli fic recs for a friend of theirs, and me, immediately going all OH BOY DO I!!!!  (◕◡◕✿) (◕◡◕✿) not including fics from myself in this list, but my chili fics are over here if you want to read them <3 (the one emperor!zhongli ‘a thousand gold, a thousand pearls’ au, a couple postcanon one-shots the usual)

this is more like a…tasting platter of a rec list? there are likely very good fics out there that i haven’t read but you could probably find if you really wanted to check ratings and warnings on the fics as appropriate. people also like using either zhongchi or tartali to tag the pairing/pairing dynamic and get very passionate about that.

note: some fics were actually written before more canon game info updated or was released. some were written later, which could explain some of the canon divergence/assorted cloud of canon facts sprinkled across fics. In canon, Childe’s parents are still alive, and he also has an (unspecified) number of siblings, though at least 1 or 2 older siblings and 3 younger ones.

The live-action tokusatsu childe and zhongli AU short film (~ 10 mins??) with actual actors -  this was a fanvid work of love directed by a very very dedicated fan, which genshin showed in one of their…fan works livestreams?? something like that.

To Be An Imperial Concubine by tealvneu I’m Keeping My eye on this one. Look. if you love any cdrama in your life, this Feels accurate as heck. childe is the concubine in this. i love it. Cutting Torrent Shimmering Through Darkness by Nuying (Lachrymosity) cdrama aesthetic in this again. Also intrigue, dangerous parties, assassinations u kno the drill!!
