the happy ending to this story is actually that he admitted some gnomes can live above ground, after i was appropriately impressed by his gnome book
I'm Danish, I can confirm! Throughout my childhood, every December we would make porridge and put it in the attic for our resident gnome. Farm gnomes love porridge
I was like "I recognize that gnome house" and then I realized someone made an animated series based on the gnome book called "David the Gnome":
It's very boring (affectionate) and cozy. The theme song lives in my head rent free.
I bet if another dashcon was announced and all they advertised was an empty auditorium and a return of the ball pit more people would show up than the original.

Those comics and drawings are a fun bit that held my interest until I made myself busy with something else. It's also something that I feel would... not necessarily get old fast, but... It's the same joke over and over again more or less. If I had time and money, I'd make a story, but I don't so they're kind of relegated to if I feel inspired to make another page or not.

I think there's something very perverse about the MGS3 remake. Kojima wrote a war poem, made konami an engine for silent hill, and then got canned in probably the biggest falling out in industry history, and now they're using his acclaim that elevated silent hill with PT to make another one, as well as use the engine to cannibalize mgs3 that'll probably be rife with all kinds of preorder bonuses and dlc if they decide to include the online mode again.
There was so much, now proven in retrospect, performative posturing when all that was going on, and people and the press are just gobbling it up because hey look more product. I remember that product. I wouldn't be shocked if his name wasn't even in the credits.
I promise not to harp on the subject too much. I'm sure people are very excited about it. I just wish I could be too.
