I think it's so funny that everyone is like Stizzy friendship arc when I was immediately (by immediately I mean the 6th time I watched it and noticed that Izzy was doing more than just getting a knife lobbed at his head) like "oh Ed went overboard in a storm and washed up on the beach, he's fighting Hornigold's ghost, Izzy has Blackbeard hangups and doesnt believe that Ed is dead, but he also can't find him under his own power so he's using Stede to try to draw him out and intends to kill him the second that he finds Ed again."

Like I don't KNOW that but it's a sequence of events I can clearly see as happening. Unlike Izzy suddenly having a change of heart after committing to the bit so hard he loses a foot.

it's not as though "izzy recruits stede's help while planning to kill him as soon as he's not useful" and "stizzy friendship arc" are mutually exclusive

Okay, so fun thing - our friends taped it from Sky for us when it premiered there way back in the 90s before we had the VHS. I have no idea why, but there was a little 10-15 minute behind the scenes thing (that may or may not be on the DVD. Would need to go hunting) but basically, they were “interviewing the cast”, so Piggy and Kermit and Tim were all there being filmed separately in talking heads sections.

The interviewer raised speculation of an on-set romance between Piggy and Tim Curry. Kermit flailed, Piggy tried to be coy and Tim frigging Curry gave the most wickedly mischievous look straight into the camera and said “Well I do love a bacon roll”

20+ years ago, I saw that and I cackle every time I think of it.

I feel like tumblr should be bigger fans of The Blues Brothers. It's a movie that has everything we value as a community. Attention and respect to pioneering black musicians, open hostility to nazis, open defiance to police, Carrie Fisher with a rocket launcher and flamethrower, a soundtrack that goes hard as hell, John Belushi so blasted on cocaine that he continues to do somersaults despite having a broken ankle. I closed the bathroom door to pee with a little privacy (other people with cats are already shaking their heads at me) because Weevil is being particularly clingy this afternoon, and when she’s like this and I go to the bathroom, she immediately jumps on my naked lap, which is cute but also. Honey I am trying to piss. So I closed the door, and now the baby is CRYING, she is WEEPING, she is scrambling her little claws against the wood and mewling, all of which is turns out is actually more distracting to the whole process I’m trying to start in here, on account of it being hard to relax when you are also wondering if you’re history’s greatest monster, so fine fine, the cat wins. I got up, shuffled over to the door, and let her in, at which point she ran between my legs and jumped up on the toilet bowl. I’m not sure what her end goal was here because Weevil is the clumsiest cat I’ve ever met, so she instantly slipped, got her front legs soaked in in the miraculously still unused toilet, jumped six feet in the air, and knocked over every knock overable item in her immediate vicinity. And now she’s SO SAD again because I won’t let this creature still damp with toilet water sit in my lap. I am raising a toddler with claws.

If anyone made this for me. I can’t even describe what I’d be willing to do for them

This is my favorite Goncharov post so far because:

1. The concept of an ALTERNATE UNIVERSE for a movie that DOESN'T EXIST is sending me into another dimension.

2. Despite appearing nonsensical, we of course are living in a world where the established Canon of Goncharov is that they do not survive everything and grow old together.

3. Of fucking course Tumblr would imagine a movie with two characters with intense homoerotic subtext, kill them violently with their love unfulfilled, and THEN create AU FAN ART WHERE THE LOVE IS FULFILLED.

And all of it fucking slaps I love this so much
