We who loved carelessly, wildly, and passionately loved best. But like fires that burn the brightest, like storms that give the most rain, like stars that emit the boldest shine, we broke before we even started. Every single touch was a smoke signal, every single kiss was a slash in the sky, every single time we said we loved each other, our hearts exploded to give us light. We loved so well we drowned ourselves in sacrifice, we fought so hard we couldn’t even see where the blood was coming from, we gave so much that we didn’t realize how emptiness felt until we found ourselves alone. We were the creators of our chaos, the architects of our ardency, the fly to our very own flame. We loved each other so much– but it only tore us apart in the end.
