white people and overall privileged people have been led to believe that the opposite of 'oppression' is 'lack of oppression' which is a fundamental misunderstanding that leads to the preservation of systematic oppression.

they for example believe that the opposite of 'racism is 'absence of racism' and they translate it to their politics. they believe themselves progressive because they arent 'adding' to the racism in the world. however the opposite of 'racism' is in fact 'anti-racism'. to simplify it: if 'racism' = 1 then 'lack of racism' = 0 and 'anti-racism' = -1. they remain neutral while the 'amount' of racism in the world will not be diminuted. their neutrality does nothing. they allow themselves comfort in the fact that they are 'not-bad' people but are unaware they aren't 'good' people. because that takes work.

the problem with white people (and again overall privileged people) is that they want the net amount of 'evilness' to be 0 but they don't want to do the work of subtracting to the real actual amount of 'evilness' there is. like malcolm x said : "If you stick a knife in my back nine inches and pull it out six inches, there's no progress. If you pull it all the way out that's not progress. Progress is healing the wound that the blow made. And they haven't even pulled the knife out much less heal the wound. They won't even admit the knife is there."

the tragicness of these situations is that it's not even the extremists that 'allow' this to happen. they of course work for it to happen, but it is the privileged majority who is too scared of the knife to even bring attention to it that let's it happen.

A hospital administrator in Gaza has refused Israeli orders to evacuate, calling such a move medically “impossible” as he begged the international community to pressure Israel to dial back.

“I am refusing this because I cannot discharge our patients,” Dr Ahmed Mhanna, who manages two Al-Awda Hospital branches, said.

He explained too many patients in his care are suffering from gunshot and shrapnel wounds and cannot be moved.

In a video diary, Mhanna appealed to world political forces to persuade Israel to dial back on rockets being launched in Gaza.

“I'm asking all members, international societies, and Red Cross and WHO, and in law societies international to (put) pressure on the Israeli government to stop these procedures against the civilians and to stop that attack,” he said.

“Stop the war. Stop the bombs being against our civilians.”
