I wondered how Merlin would feel if, while in Alternate-Camelot, he had a really nice dream. He was freely practicing magic in front of his Arthur, his father was there to mentor him about being a Dragonlord. His father was proud of him, Arthur looked at him with wonder in his eyes whenever he did magic.
And then to wake up after that and realize you're in a world where your best friend exists but barely knows you, your father doesn't know you're his son, would probably be very upsetting.

I was fortunate enough to be asked to participate in this Merthur Art Calender project, organized by @tracionn to raise money for their very successful Merthur convention @coinelot.
For the wall calender piece, I wanted to show the love between them as Arthur finally returns thousands of years later. I imagine it would be in December, Arthurs birth month in a few texts.
It’s been 6+ years in this fandom and I love it as much as I miss it. I hope everyone who buys a calender enjoys it as much as I do!

Merlin revealed his magic, and Arthur was surprisingly okay with it. Arthur had had an outburst when he found out, but Merlin explained things to him until he finally accepted it and said that they were still okay.
But Arthur isn’t okay with it, and Merlin has to put up with his cold shoulder for weeks until he finally has enough.
