i know this is gonna anger ttrpg players on both sides of the table; which is both rules-lawyery, combat-obsessed, joyless douchebros, and micro-indie-itch.io homebrew anarchists, but to me "dnd" is when you sit down with your friends and some dice and maybe a few character sheets and you pretend to be elves and dragonborns and whatnot and the rules only matter a little bit and the lore only matters as much as the dm finds it compatible with their creative vision and the main focus is going on tangents and voice acting your heart out and making incomprehensible inside jokes and most importantly, buying way too many sets of dice. like an absurd amount of dice. and i will not stop calling this dnd and no i don't own any rulebooks. that's all.
