I love all the humans in space stuff and wanted to contribute something to it. As soon as earth starts making it into space and makes friends with all the aliens the aliens start to notice the humans talking about red shirts and some humans refuse to put on anything with red in uniform when going out to missions. All the aliens are like Wtf?! Then one of the humans pulls out a memory stick and says with an evil smirk “You’re going to love this.” Then introduces Star Trek the original series to the whole ship. Then the humans have to explain that this was made well before humans ever made contact with any another life in space so this was just a made up stories about what it would be like. Some of the aliens have latched onto it like any good trekkie and have started to go around the ship quoting the show. Now no one on the ship wants to wear red when going on missions. It’s spread so far on the ship that the captain has used it to threaten the crew with it that if they disobey order or something then they have to wear a red shirt in the next mission.

Guys this has reached 3000 notes I'm so excited

So I don't know if anyone else has thought of this but I was thinking about Ratatouille and how Remy was able to control Linguini by his hair. Well my theory is that Linguini's head is super sensitive. Like if you were to pet him he'd like turn into goo or if you pull on his hair it'd cause a knee jerking reaction and Remy found that pulling on certain hairs would cause the same reaction and now that I'm typing this I feel like theres probably alot of people who figured it out as they watched it but I'm the kinda of person who takes movies at face value otherwise they'd be to predictable and therefore boring for me so yeah but anyways that's my theory on Ratatouille at 3am. I need to use the sleep now.

Finally got new tires on me car. Was going to change them myself but the tire changer machine wasn't working so I had to pay someone else to do it. Which is fine since I hate doing it lol https://www.instagram.com/p/B-ahDYTJWhT/?igshid=ymaa60s38v5f

King Cwoud hewe to dewiber jwustus!

tampons and pads should be free, going through that pain every month AND having to pay money for it each time is unimaginably unfair

Random thing of the day. Pulled into the target parking lot and had some old lady all me if the sailor moon stickers on my car was from fortnight. Died a little on the inside. Then went to complain to my barista about it and then she goes on to tell me about the time some chick commented on the ouroboros sticker on her car and it took her a minute to register what the chick was talking about. Turned out that it was me that had made the comment on her sticker like 3yrs ago and she never let herself go about not realizing what I was talking about. We both died.

Me and the little sis go to @tacobell all the time and we'll often get crunchwrap supremes I always get fresco style and she gets no lettuce. #tacobell #crunchwrapserpreme #frescostyle #nolettuce #watercolor #watercolormarkers #micronpen #traditionalart #artofkokoneko https://www.instagram.com/p/BsjjmaQADpC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1fdlrqxmgdmel

A while back I had thought it'd be 'fun' to try to write down and give my opinion(cause nobody asked) of all the animes I've seen over the years, since I've started watching anime when I was about 12 and I am now 31, just did the maths and holy shit I've been watching anime for almost 20yrs damn. So you can imagine just how much I've seen. I've tried to put it all in one post here on tumblr but it said I past the word count that I didn't know existed then I thought "Hey why not do screen shots!" but even that is to much with it taking 17 screen shots to get all of them and even still I've there are some new seires that I haven't gotten the chance to add to my ever growing list. Maybe one day I'll go back and figure out a way to get all of it on to 10 images but that day is not this day for that is to much work and I only knida care.

I cannot emphasize enough how much you need to read thoroughly through the terms of any publication before you send your writing to them. It is mandatory that you know and understand what rights you’re giving away when you’re trying to get published.

Just the other day I was emailed by a relatively new indie journal looking for writers. They made it very clear that they did not pay writers for their work, so I figured I’d probably be passing, but I took a look at their Copyright policy out of curiosity and it was a nightmare. They wanted “non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license and right to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and publish the Work on the internet and on or in any medium” (that’s copy and pasted btw) and that was the first of 10 sections on their Copyright agreement page. Yikes. That’s exactly the type of publishing nightmare you don’t want to be trapped in.

Most journals will ask for “First North American Rights” or a variation on “First Rights” which operate under the assumption that all right revert back to you and they only have the right to be the first publishers of the work. That is what you need to be looking for because you do want to retain all the rights to your work.

You want all rights to revert back to you upon publication in case you, say, want to publish it again in the future or use it for a bookmark or post it on your blog, or anything else you might want to do with the writing you worked hard on. Any time a publisher wants more than that, be very suspicious. Anyone who wants to own your work forever and be able to do whatever they want with it without your permission is not to be trusted. Anyone who wants all that and wants you to sign away your right to ever be paid for your work is running a scam.

Protect your writing. It’s not just your intellectual property, it’s also your baby. You worked hard on it. You need to do the extra research to protect yourself so that a scammer (or even a well meaning start up) doesn’t steal you work right from under you nose and make money off of it.

Exclusive publishing rights have to have a set time frame! Do not agree to anything that doesn’t clearly state “up to five years from signature” or something like that.

What if the publisher goes defunct? What if they get bought by another publisher who doesn’t care to promote or publish your work? You still can’t to anything with it, you don’t own it anymore!

For a thorough overview of what you should be aware of regarding your intellectual property and publishing rights, please read through this collection of post [https://kriswrites.com/business-musings/contracts-and-dealbreakers/] by Kristine Kathryn Rusch

Protect your IP. Do not give away your stories.

Every writer needs to read this before signing that contract:
