You sat on the Havoc Marauder, staring aimlessly into nothing. You’re on your way to Coruscant with the batch after a mission. They wanted another break at 79’s and you didn’t deny them because it gave you a good opportunity to find Rex or even run into a Senator by chance. A hand trailed up the back of your neck and intertwined into your hair.
“What is it, mesh’la?” Hunter murmured.
You shook your head and looked at him with a weak smile. He let out a sigh and crouched to meet your eyes.
“Let’s take this time to relax…”
“I cannot find any relaxation or comfort while Caetum is being marauded by Separatists…”
He nodded and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead.
“Entering Coruscant’s atmosphere. Strap in.” Tech called out, so Hunter and you entered the cockpit to take your seats. Once you landed in the public hangar, you rented a skriff and headed to a small inn where you’ll all be able to relax after having some drinks at 79’s. You set your bag down next to one of the beds and sighed, too distracted to focus on the fun of having drinks with your lovers. Gentle footsteps approached you and you turned to see Wrecker, which surprised you. You furrowed your brows before speaking.

You were always a very shy and humble person, so no one would ever imagine you to be in a relationship with a clone trooper. Not just one, but five! Your relationship wasn’t too public, but it was no secret either. Honestly, if people really knew that side of you more, they’d expect you to be with people like Captain Rex, Fives, and Cody. However, they weren’t your paramours, the troopers of Clone Force 99 were. You have always been perceived as such a sweet young thing ever since you arrived in Kamino to help the Kaminoans teach the younger clones and nurse them as something like a caretaker. Nearly all the clones respected you and were the kindest in your presence, so the thought of you favoriting Clone Force 99 boggled them. Of course, you wouldn’t have admitted Clone Force 99 was your favorite division out of the clone troopers, but it was obvious due to you going as far as being in a relationship with all five of them. That was beside the point; even though Clone Force 99 was different from the other troopers, they were still very fond and protective over you like the other clones, which didn’t bother the others too much. If it did, they couldn’t muster up enough courage to say so out loud due to 99’s looming reputation.

This is a beautiful graphic but it doesn’t explain the pros and cons of each fire type.
The Swedish torch is good for an efficient and contained fire, it’s controlled and good for cooking over and produces less light and heat than other fires. It can be difficult to keep going once you burn through the original log
The teepee is your traditional campfire. Good for heat and light not great for cooking, burns through fuel fairly quickly
The star fire is one of the slowest burning and not well protected but provides an even heat good for slow cooking and is excellent if you have limited fuel and need the protection a fire can provide
The lean to is a compact and efficient fire that evolves into a dense and hot bed of coals. The structure creates a good source of air flow which can help damp wood burn. A slightly better cooking fire that isn’t as bright. It also provides protection from wind on one side
The platform fire is incredibly hot and will create a very thick bed of coals but it doesn’t have a lot of air flow and is a little harder to get started.
The log cabin is big and bright and has lots of air flow which again is good for damp logs. You can also use this structure to start a smaller fire in the middle while drying out bigger logs. This fire will crumble into a messier bed of coals that don’t produce particularly even heat for cooking.
The modified leanto is excellent if you need it to perform multiple functions. The side with more fuel will burn bright and hot and the side with less fuel will burn less hot but more evenly and controlled, this gives you different cooking options.

You sat in front of one of the computers of the ship, not really doing anything. You were on your way back to Ord Mantell, but then Cid had sent a transmission stating another job had to be fulfilled and to go straight away. So now the ship was en route to the planet Point Scianna. You and Hunter hadn’t talked since Ryloth, but you could care less. You knew you were being reckless when separating from the group and wished you had stayed with them instead after the fight with Crosshair. It had barely been 24 hours since then and it was already haunting your mind.

“C’mon ner cyar’ika, hold still for Papa…”
At merely a ripe four days old, the itty-bitty cyar’ika continues to wail red in the face, her delicate lungs expanding with heart-wrenching cries. It’s not loud, per se—and even then, noises are an occupational hazard for the enhanced Sergeant. But it’s incessant, and it’s enough to make Hunter wince in an amalgam of pain and climbing desperation—shit, please don’t wake Mama up, he quietly begs. The newborn continues to fidget as he wills his racing heart to settle and his mind to make sense of this very tricky blankie maneuver.
Swaddling, Tech had called it.
“…I don’t think that’s the right way, Hunter,” Omega has her bottom lip notched between her teeth, eyeing her struggling Buir with wary from her perch atop Gonky.
“It is most certainly not,” Tech huffs flippantly. “The blanket is supposed to go under her head, not over it—”
“Maybe it should.”
Hunter summons just enough energy to shoot Crosshair a sharp glare.
“Ugh, Hunter,” Wrecker brings his hands over his ears with a groan. “Make it stop.”
He can’t blame his brothers gathered around, watching him with a mix of scrutiny and perhaps, if he looks past the senseless diagram before him, something akin to sympathy as he flounders about in fatherhood. They all stare at this tiny human like an anomaly. They’re just as lost as he is.
His ears won’t stop ringing.
Tech wags the diagram in his face, and Hunter snatches it.
“I’m trying,” he grits.
The newborn squeals impossible louder.
Warmth. She just wants warmth, an imitation of her time back in the womb, Hunter knows—he’s been listening close to Cyare’s instruction.
His heart aches as he looks down helplessly at his baby.
“I know, I know,” he soothes weakly. “Mama could do this much better.” Much better than I could.
The air is suddenly stifling.
“Uhm… Hunter… maybe I should try…?”
“It’s okay, Omega.”
“Other end, Hunter,” Tech shouts, despite standing right next to him.
“Other end of what?” Hunter snaps. Apparently the crying has taken away his capacity for logic. It’s suddenly all too much, and the baby uses this time to shake apart his hard work in a fury of stubby limbs.
“My my, what’s all this fuss about?”
Hunter’s heart drops, skittering uncharacteristically around someone with the most soothing voice known to man.
And it feels like the ultimate failure, when Cyare strolls up with a sleepy smile, having been so rudely disturbed in her recovery but not at all bothered—or phased, Hunter realizes—at the scene before her.
His heart sinks even further.
“Alor’ika, you’re okay baby,” Cyare coos, stepping into Hunter’s spot in front of their baby as he moves dutifully out of the way (with hunched shoulders, no less). She smooths her hands up and down her tiny body, letting her know that it’s okay, Mommy’s here. Cyare’s always been able to de-escalate, rectify, in ways he never could. She grabs one corner of the blanket, and proceeds to swaddle their daughter skillfully—but slow enough for Hunter to follow. “Is Papa getting you all tangled up?”
Over, tuck, up, tuck—
