Welcome to Gemma’s Theory time ~~*ATEEZ Multiverse edition*~~ this is gonna be in a few parts or it would be massive. So this is Part One: The Individual scenes. Part 2 will be The Split and Part 3: The Big Picture.

The Breakdown:

the monologue talks about being seperated, I think Hongjoongs scene is primarily about SEPERATION and the driving force of the era, a desire tog et back what was lost, it sets him up as the main actor in the current narrative,

Hence why I think HalaJoong approached him. And the hourglass is what will help him find them again, either by turning back time or as a way to connect the dimentions

The ‘her’ is generally accepted as being a metaphor, the embodiment of what he doesn’t have CONFIDENCE, confidence to stray from his lists, from the stop sign, to dance freely the way she does. What he chases isn’t a person but a feeling. She is his memory for freedom and the confidence to pursue it. Its worth noting that in the room with the notes we see Yeosang’s glass case scene from SMN, which Wooyoung said in an interview is very important…

Wooyoung’s choice I think refers to both in this era and the last, Wooyoung (the character) making choices that got him separated from ATZ, he is chained alone in Wonderland and in this he gets chained out of their space.

His monologue is about getting strength from his friends, and now he is forced to be alone…again

The time title, I’m a little unsure of but his symbology is pretty clear, he is trapped by many things in this he says by his families expectations, and he wants to break free of the cage (like he does in SMN)

Interestingly, Yeosangs scene doesn’t end badly or alone, like most of the others, his ends with him surrounded by the others. I think this might play into the bigger picture and his theme of escape.

San’s resolution is not to leave them behind, as he has left his pervious life (3 schools, the moving truck) Interesting in his scene is the escalators that look very much like the scenes in Wonderland

WE speculated a lot that Wonderland was someone breaking out, I wonder if this maybe represents the return to that bad place, the dystopia of Wonderland, the wrong choice, which is why he runs back to them.

Setting aside the question of who Yunho’s brother is, represented by the broken guitar, he talks about his guilt and holding on to his brothers dreamthis scene is where we first see the time

clearly 5:07 means something, 507 is an angelic number, a message for those seeking wholeness…which one argues that is what HJ is doing. But then he is hit by a truck. Defiantly stops him from finding his wholeness I’d say.

I think wandering is in reference to him losing his basketball dream. The second time we see the time 5:07 is when the fight happens, when he loses his second dream of making music with ATZ. Something happened to trigger these events that break ATZ apart further. Jongho setting the scene aflame might refer to him burning his own dreams down, by giving up and lashing out.

Mingi’s diary tells us how he felt isolated, shutting out the world he felt held nothing for him with his headphones, until ATZ came and gave him a reason to engage, when the fight breaks out, he choses to cut it all off, put the headphones back in and retreat. I find it interesting that we get the fight in both Mingi’s and Jongho’s scenes, the others don’t share so much detail, which makes us as who started it, did mingi do something wrong or did he just wait for an excuse to retreat?

I think on the whole, these scenes serve to show what each member fears, being alone, separated, losing something or someone. And I think that links to the bigger story, why are they going through their worst case scenarios?
