I haven’t been in fandom for a long time so i’m lost, akuroku is a bad ship now?

The gist of it is this: There’s a group of fans on twitter and tumblr that go around harrasing fans of akuroku because it’s a “problematic” ship (because of the age difference), calling it pedophilia eventhough for the most part it’s because it interferes with their favorite ship. They went as far as warning people to not sign up for the soriku zine because one of the mods is an akuroku shipper, stalking other fans’ AO3 and blacklisting them because they had an akuroku work bookmarked. Ever heard of Mean Girls? That’s what they remind me of. You can probably find them by searching “akuroku” or “akrk” on twitter. The worst thing is that a lot of them are also soriku shippers.

Cyberbullying is bad, kids. Some fans are emotionally invested in kingdom hearts and akuroku. Get over it and move on, it makes the rest of the fandom look bad and toxic.

Edit: before sending me anon hatemail and calling me a liar, does this not look like cyberbullying to you? Spreading hate and targetting a group of fans within kingdom hearts fandom because of their ship is toxic.

I was disappointed to see one of my favorite soriku accounts be on board with this bullying bullshit. Antis are the worst and most annoying thing in any fandom.

If you actively spread hate just because you don’t like a certain ship and calling those who ship it PEDOPHILES, I’m sorry but you are an asshole.
