Signs my partner’s cat, Bagel B. Bandit (the B stands for Bastard), is a devotee of Lord Hermes:

- He is, as the name implies, a thief. (Yes he really likes to steal bread products) in fact, he ONLY likes stolen food.

- He even has little white gloves, to better do thievery with.

- He visits all of the altars of the Gods and Godesses regularly.

- Sometimes he particularly enjoys knocking things off of Lord Apollo’s altar, lately he has been stealing the dried sunflowers and crystals from Lord Apollo’s altar, even though it’s the hardest for him to reach. He does this both at my apartment and my partner’s.

- He hangs out at Lord Hades’ altar a LOT. Like it’s his favorite. Lord Dionysus has a beautiful altar near the floor, same with Lord Poseidon and Lord Ares, but he chooses to sit with Lord Hades.

- He can go v fast when he has zoomies!

- He enjoys playing and tricks!

- He announces his presence in a room, or your presence. Meow!

- Although he does not particularly enjoy the Bubble Backpack, he does seem to be much calmer when he is riding in a car, and is the most calm when we’re going fast on the highway.

- He just has a vibe that devotees of Lord Hermes have, you know?

If you deadname someone in the death note it kills you

In one of the Death Note live action movies (I think it was Light Up the New World), a man changes his name after harboring guilt about past crimes and trying to atone (not even answering to that name). He's only killed after his new name gets put in the book, since he shed his old name.

Man wasn't trans, but if the logic applied to him, logic should apply to trans people too!

This rule implies that birth names are not necessarily the names given to you at birth.

That means you can change your name or consider yourself to have a new name and the death note recognizes it.

Death Note is an ally.

A job shouldn't steal away your peace of mind entirely. It shouldn't make you feel extremely uncomfortable or unhappy. Independence is a lie! Existing in this world requires some sort of dependence on other people, even if you live off the grid or in a commune! We are all part of a society and we all need help with the things that we can't do as individuals!

as much as I stand by the idea that the Deities appear and speak to us in a way that we need and can comprehend best, sometimes I feel as if people mistake Hermes’s wit with “silliness and goofiness” and forget that to be able to come up with a successful joke that can uplift one’s spirit, you need to be intelligent, charming, observant, confident as well as read the other’s emotions like an open book. And that, my friends, requires some serious skill.

Don't be afraid to use your character's name!

To avoid repetition, new writers will often resort to descriptions like "the tall woman," or "the dark-haired man", which breaks up narrative flow and reads as unnatural. Don't over-describe, when just a name will do.

this is actually such a great tip!! one of the biggest tell-tale signs of novice writing is cute little descriptors when they're not needed and using overly-creative dialogue tags.
