I think there’s a really unfortunate trend in people’s thinking that like, belonging to a marginalized or oppressed group makes you an ethically better person (either generally or individually) and like that sort of moralism is really unhelpful to any discussion and also doesn’t track into reality. It also results in like, someone’s status as an oppressed person being revoked by their individual moral failings, which obviously makes no actual sense
them: we’re over populated, that’s why people don’t have enough food to eat
reality: capitalism over-produces food, we have enough food to feed the world we just throw away what isn’t profitable.
and corporations COULD give excess food to the poor and the homeless but most of them go out of their way to trash it
corporation throwing away millions of pounds of food: And if you buy one of our microwave meals we’ll donate 1 cent to help end child hunger. (:

beach dreams
this is truly the realest thing I’ve ever watched
when i was studying abroad, there was me and my friend (both brazilians), a guy from Chile, a girl from Ghana, an australian and a danish guy.
The Australian and the Danish completely trusted the machine doing its own thing, but we, the Third World, know better than to leave the plates in the grease machine and we cleaned our shit by hand everyday
