theres an ooze for just about every brand of human provocation and plainly i am sick of it

whenever i see fics/art/hcs/etc. where jack is characterized as only being the Angry Loud Demanding Asshole instead of a strong, moral, and loving husband with a deep need to protect those he loves and who genuinely sees the best in people i am reminded how pervasive racism is in fandom spaces. do better.

yall take the few times where jack yells or pushes will (who might i remind you is a far worse person than jack lmfao) and turn it into his entire character arc, when most of his screen time in canon is him wanting to save people and care for the love of his life who’s dying from cancer. jack is one of the only genuinely good people in the show and that’s pushed aside in almost every way by the fandom. stop reducing black characters down to ‘aggressive and rude’ when their arcs aren’t about that at ALL. call it what it is. vehement internalized antiblackness.

fun fact: hannibal gutting will, manipulating will, gaslighting will, drugging will, sending will to prison, and trying to kill will are actually a lot worse than a black man yelling at will twice because he zoned out on the job.
