Kidd The Maniac

@kiddthemaniac / kiddthemaniac.tumblr.com

Call me Kidd. Twenty-five, agender, kind of a mess.I like to develop panels and other programming for conventions. I've also got a fledgling side-blog dedicated to pretend beards.

We know that Facebook is brainscorching your parents and tiktok is brainscorching your cousins, but some of you refuse to admit that you got your brain scorched here. However unlike those sites there isn't an algorithm here you just make bad choices.

That's all we ever wanted. To arrive at Hell as a result of our own dubious navigation skills instead of as the result of Satan owning all the road sign companies.

Re: Dracula is Dracula Daily for your ears! Listen to the story with a full cast of voice actors and immersive sound design - all for free on your favorite podcast app!

I am loving this podcast. The actors are perfect and they add so much to the story that you miss reading. They really bring home how freaking young and earnest Jonathan is

Update: THIS IS VERY GOOD. I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks and i wholeheartedly recommend this. The acting, the sound effects, the creative decisions, chef's kiss! I can't wait to get to the fucking COWBOY.

This is already in my top 10 list of audio drama podcasts, and its quality has eclipsed some well-loved classics like The Black Tapes. I can't BELIEVE how good the experience is, and I am floored by how much more accessible the text is when I hear Jonathan Harker's voice.

Absolutely phenomenal. Please listen to Re: Dracula.

This podcast has some actors from The Magnus Archives and that's great.

This is so accurate it hurts.

Isn’t this Miyazaki commenting on ableism?

@weareallanders Yes, it's from a clip where animators decided to use the body movements of disabled people to animate zombies. Miyazaki's close friend is disabled and has to move in a way similar to the zombies, and he called them out on how disgusting it was to use disabled people as a tool for horror

Not sure where you heard this, but it’s not true. The animators were experimenting with AI-generated movement (like those “AI Learns To Walk” videos). Some of the early results were geared around the idea of “a monster that feels no pain and uses its head to walk”. The animators had hoped it could be useful for zombies or monsters, but during the reveal, Miyazaki claims that the movements were too creepy and somehow reminded him of old friends’ disabilities. The AI wasn’t based on disabled people.

friend is explaining me the american healthcare system. WALK IN CLINICS COST MONEY??????

like. walk in. talk to the doctor. they say a solution and maybe perscribe something. that costs money? like i knew ambulence rides and perscriptions and treatments costed money. but just SEEING a doctor too???

cool! i think all politicians and people lobbying for this to die 👍

Sometimes you feel something rotting in the back of your teeth, screaming wetly into your gums.

The bones in your toes have become zigzags from all the “minor fractures”. Your wrists always ache.

But it’s livable enough, right?

Better to feel yourself turning derelict than risk not having enough money for rent.
