a/n; a few headcanons for gokudera’s family and what he thinks of them. (random but you can literally see the growth in character design in the header.)

Gokudera Hayato’s Family

↠ Gokudera Hayato doesn’t exactly despise his father, but he doesn’t like him either. He wasn’t the perfect father, and Gokudera wished that he had done more as a parent. He wished that his father didn’t remain ignorant to his sister’s talent in poison cooking. He wished that he gave more time to be with his children. He wished that he tried even more to keep Lavina safe. He wished his father loved him more.

↠ He always had an unexplainable feeling about his “mother” (or Bianchi’s mother, his father’s husband). He never felt comfortable being around her, always choosing to be with Lavina instead. His ‘mother’ never coddled on him either. He finally understood why years later.

↠ He barely remembers that woman’s face now. He wasn’t related to her at all and he never bothered to make conversations (even at family dinners) so he wasn’t attached. Bianchi knew her better but she wasn’t that close with her either.

↠ Gokudera loves Bianchi. He doesn’t like admitting it since his sister had basically incapicated him. But even if he denies it and even if they’re only half-siblings, Gokudera loves Bianchi dearly.

↠ Before Bianchi developed the talent for poison, she and Gokudera were inseparable. They had different hobbies, cooking and piano respectively but Bianchi always stuck to Gokudera’s side. He was always the first one to taste her cooking, meals or confections. Gokudera occasionally goes with her sister whenever she shops for clothes and Bianchi chooses Gokudera’s clothes as well.

↠ Because Gokudera trusts her so much, he didn’t hesitate to taste her new batch of cookies that she made to hype him up before he plays the piano in front of a huge crowd for the first time. He didn’t hesitate even with the clear dark violet smoke and the weird little objects on the treat.

↠ Gokudera will always have Bianchi’s back like how Bianchi has his, putting aside the poisoning and all. Bianchi will always drop anything if Gokudera calls her and Gokudera always answers her random worried phone calls when he has time.

↠ He secretly hated Bianchi’s boyfriends. His sister has the most questionable taste in men. He made sure to remember the names of said boyfriends in case they do something to Bianchi or make her cry. He will pummel their faces to the ground. (Bianchi didn’t need him to do it though, she’s a hitman herself.)

↠ Gokudera didn’t tell anyone but Bianchi that he was leaving. He said it with his back to her, knowing that he was going to pass out if he saw her face. (And perhaps feel a little guilty as well.) Albeit reluctant, she let him go with a promise that he’ll call every now and then or at least give a sign that he was still alive.

↠ Gokudera Hayato thought that his mother, Lavina, was the most beautiful woman in the world. He wanted to find a wife as beautiful, as gentle, and as talented as her.

↠ He wanted to be the best pianist the world had ever seen and he wanted Lavina to be there on his very first and his very last performance. Well, Lavina had been his first audience but in the future, Tsuna would be his very last.

↠ Gokudera Hayato doesn’t say it but he thinks of Shamal as his father more than his actual father. He would always be willing to help him out if the man was ever in trouble no matter how shitty and perverted the guy is.

↠ He does disapprove of Shamal flirting with Bianchi though because what the hell was up with that. 

↠ Gokudera Hayato’s first family was Bianchi, Lavina, and his father. But his second and last family would be the tenth generation of Vongola
