Some shots from the weekend at the Freehold cluster! Ashen showed amazing with her breeder, she got her coursing ability title, and I went to an adult handling clinic that was really great and informative. She also got a chiropractic adjustment which fixed some stuff that was a little out of a alignment. We saw five of her siblings and also her sire. 🥰 She's become a great dog, I love her.
Also, staying in a hotel with a dog is weird.

What made you want to get into confirmation with Ashen? I'm getting my own dog soon and curious what people's thoughts/interests are on different dog sports!
So the real answer is: I was grieving Suvie and wanted a puppy, and I didn't want to wait 1-2 years on a pet only waitlist from a good breeder. 😂
My breeder is really chill and laid back, which has made this fun to learn and get into. I knew that I wanted a dog who I could do sports with if I wanted to. I was open to learning confo as long as they were fine with knowing I had 0 experience. A huge part of it has been having a supportive breeder that is realistic in expectations and very low pressure. : ) She's a perfect fit for me. Some people get really intense about their dogs and that really takes all the fun out of it.
I think going to some events and feeling out the vibe for your breed of choice is a good starting point there. 💜
