I've been asked about @markmycomics-archive. For those who wonder, most of my old stuff has been moved there for the time being. My aim is to mainly work on more serious projects, when the time is right.
An idea
Imagine being able to make custom checkmarks with your own art and images and being able to assign them to your own followers on [tumblr].
They would probably be used to
- highlight a blog's co-creators
- keep track of the most loyal supporters
- goofs
- assign frogs of different colors to people
- more
Bloggers would proudly wear their badges like Russel from 'Up' and people could see their "Badge Mutuals", which are users with the same exact checkmarks.
Here's a diagram
Recent piece commissioned recently by my friend Bea!
wife: every once in a while i see a charge on the credit card of you sending a paypal to @kevbrinx
me: oh, yeah that's the guy i commission to draw Cyberpunk stuff for my tabletop campaign
wife: oh right
wife: ... but you havent played that in a while
me: yeah
wife: so why did you commission him last month?
me: i commissioned him to draw Quark from Star Trek stuck in a glue trap
wife: what?
me: yeah you want to see it?
This is such a throwback, I used to love seeking old posts and update announcements back in the day and found out that a lot of them played a lot with this style. Every update, announcement or whatever was accompanied by a drawing or a gif with this vibe. It's like missing a past that I never had.
I think it gave to the site a huge amount of personality and I hope it comes back!
Don’t call it a comeback, we’ve been doing this for years!
'aight, @staff... hear me out!
Unofficial TumblrMart pop-up window concept art made with Bootstrap Studio
I always felt like the current TumblrMart pop-up window felt a bit clustered and stiff. And couldn't see images too well. This is my personal alternative idea!

Current TumblrMart display window VS concept
Today I'm finishing packing this thing up hoping to send it to Tumblr tomorrow. It was originally meant to be in occasion of the site's 15th completed full spin around the sun, but had to postpone shipping for quite a bit, unfortunately.
I was inspired by a very specific vibe that I associate with the old Tumblr days that I miss (see the references?) and some doodles I saw in a picture of a door of the old office (can't find the original post).
Happy definitely very belated anniversary, [tumblr]!
So apparently @staff is doing this very cool thing on Dribbble where users can share their own version of the Tumblr app icon. Sadly, I'm not able to join the contest due to eligibility restrictions but I had way too much fun making whatever this is 👇
Meet the Artist: @kevbrinx
Waddup Tumblr, I’m Kevin! ✌️ Independent comic writer and artist.
I used to update the Mark My Comics series on my blog.
Currently drawing a cosmic horror webcomic, learning web design and ruining skateboards with spray paint and pens.
Deeply fascinated by the eeriness of the unknown and places you leave behind, which prompted me to start writing a story of my own (coming soon, wink wink).
Great to meet you, Kevin! Here is some of the work he has picked out to share here.
Erin Davis (early design repost) from my upcoming story, @theslackclubcomic
New trailer and stuff coming soon! 👀
