being a victim or lgbt doesnt make killing stalking any better because you are still:
- normalizing abuse/abusive relationships not to mention supporting media that could be used for grooming.
killing stalking relies on an abuse as a main plot point and whether you like it or not people are going to look at it and think its acceptable or normal (i.e: bum and sangwoo relationship goals xDD, ppl who ship them, etc) because of it. YOU might realize its wrong but some people dont and wont, and circulating media like this to people who might see this as “normal” can effect real life and make abuse less of a sensitive subject and essentially normalizing it. this is dangerous for victims especially because if someone consumes multiple media types that do this same thing, what are they going to think? theyre going to think that this is normal and acceptable, theyre going to brush off victims as being “too sensitive” or “needing to suck it up” or “realize its only fiction”. fiction =/= reality but fiction AFFECTS REALITY MASSIVELY. if something in fiction is slowly taken as or perceived as okay, in turn it will affect that persons world view into thinking that these things are okay to do irl as well.
ks is also media that can be used by abusers to groom young victims much like things such as blmatsu can be: if an abuser knows of ks and knows that a lot of people like it and defend it they can use that against their victim in a case of “look, youre over reacting, see? theres nothing wrong with it, its in ___ and people still like it” and circulating and supporting media like this only backs this up even more, the more popular and widely accepted it is the more likely abusers will pick it up and use it in their favor.
- supporting media that fetishizes gay ppl.
bl in general is baity and used to draw in fujoshis which are obviously, a large demographic. dont even fucking try to tell me that 99% of fans only read it because theres 2 men who get thrown into sexual situations because you know damn well thats true. its the same fetishizing cookie cutter STEREOTYPICAL portrayal of a gay couple right down to the seme/uke trope like come on. bigger, stronger, more masculine dom, and a smaller, weaker, less masculine sub? the bl genre in general is incredibly stereotyping and often portrayls gay people negatively not to mention a half ass lazy way to draw in viewers that at the end of the day ends up being a purely sexualized mess and nothing else. in ks especially abuse is watered down to being sexualized in the end and 2 male characters are put into disgusting eroticized situations? its fetishizing and its harmful and upsetting to many in the lgbt community.
- supporting media that demonizes and creates more stigma around mi people.
KILLING STALKING IS NOT GOOD BPD REPRESENTATION. the only thing its done is help create more stigma surrounding it, what is someone whos NEVER heard of bpd before going to assume when seeing it for the first time in this comic? theyre going to assume that bpd makes people this way, theyre going to assume that all people with bpd act like this, theyre going to assume that this is accurate representation of an already massively stigmatized and misunderstood disorder. JUST BECAUSE YOU REALIZE THAT ITS BAD IT DOESNT MEAN OTHER PEOPLE DO and by supporting and circulating this media youre contributing to spreading it to more people and spreading more stigmatization which is for obvious reasons, HARMFUL TO MI PEOPLE ESPECIALLY PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY HAVE BPD!!!!!!!! not to mention its used for shock value and is never built upon further than one panel as far as im aware. not everyone realizes that bad representation in fiction is equal to reality. for example: split. is it an accurate portrayal of did? absolutely not. but do people irl believe that this is how people with did, do some people assume that this is what did is? they do because first impression with a mental illness builds up someones perceiption of it, and if that initial impression is bad this persons perception of mental illness is going to be full of stigma and misinformation, again, leading them to believe that THIS FICTIONAL REPRESENTATION IS ACCURATE AND THIS IS HOW PEOPLE IRL WITH THIS DISORDER ARE
ks is harmful media you all need to open your eyes and realize how damaging it can be. listen to victims on the other side, listen to lgbt people on the other side, listen to people who are rightfully upset by it. and for gods sake STOP SHIPPING THEM IT SHOULDNT EVEN HAVE TO BE EXPLAINED.
