Somewhere, in London, there is a man or a woman who gets to cut the Holy Curls of Sherlockdom. Who is this person? How were they chosen? I NEED FIC OF THIS. This sounds important. The closest real thing I know to Sherlock’s Curls is the Ponderhair, and it is cut by one of his friends (who happens to be a pro hairdresser with a set-up at home). I don’t see Sherlock going for that though.

If someone decides to write this and has questions about curly hair, I’d be happy to help. My hair is the same curl type as Ben/Sherlock (there are different classifications for curls) and I’ve got my hair care regiment down to a science (his is shorter than mine, but the same physics and texture and all that).
In short - I have a special hair stylist who cuts my hair DRY, individually curl by curl (it’s called a DevaCut). I condition like hell in the shower, and lots of leave in conditioner after. AIR DRY, DO NOT BLOW DRY. And once it’s dry, you can’t comb/brush it out again without resetting with water.
Also if you’re looking to add angst to this, I had a childhood of teasing about my “Afro” and the bush on my head (my parents were clueless)

Holy f… I thought John was just smirking to himself about the corrupt nature of government. But this is just proof; Mycroft really is smarter than Sherlock. The warehouse wasn’t just a babysitting interview and salary negotiation, even if Sherlock thought it was. it was a damned test, and John passed. He’s too morally driven to sell Sherlock out, and therefore not inclined to stab Mycroft in the back. Four for you, Mycroft. You go, Mycroft.

He’s CIA-British-Government-Big-Honcho. He can control London’s CCTV network and its phone boxes. He’d need a former Army grunt (untrained in intelligence) hanging around the flat and slipping him spy messages? Unlikely.
Of course it was a test. If John hadn’t passed it, ASiP would have ended with our good doctor in the boot of a black sedan somewhere out on the moors. Or at the bottom of the Thames.
Who else was probably tested by Mycroft and passed?

MYCROFT: Interesting, that soldier fellow. He could be the making of my brother. Or make him worse than ever.
LESTRADE: Sherlock Holmes is a great man, and I think one day—if we’re very very lucky—he might even be a good one.
Why, exactly, is Greg Lestrade so invested in Sherlock’s sobriety, from the very beginning? And why do he and Mycroft go about using the same methods to monitor it, whenever John Watson’s not in the picture?
LESTRADE: It’s a drugs bust. […] They’re not strictly speaking on the drugs squad, but they’re very keen.
MYCROFT: Some members of your little fan-club. Do be polite. They’re entirely trustworthy, and even willing to search through the toxic waste dump that you are pleased to call a flat.
As Detective Inspector, wouldn’t Lestrade have an actual drug squad at his disposal? Why the below-the-table machinations, if not to protect Sherlock and avoid any actual drug charges?
Lestrade operates as Sherlock’s patron saint and advocate in the Yard. The only time things seem to get cocked up is when a higher-ranking officer like the Chief Superintendent in Reichenbach gets involved. A less-involved officer—someone untested by Mycroft.
We’ve got a direct allusion to the depth of Mycroft and Lestrade’s involvement in Baskerville:
SHERLOCK: I’m waiting for an explanation, Inspector. Why are you here?
LESTRADE: I’ve told you: I’m on holiday.
SHERLOCK: You’re brown as a nut. You’re clearly just back from your ‘holidays’.
LESTRADE (trying to look nonchalant): Yeah, well I fancied another one.
SHERLOCK: Oh, this is Mycroft, isn’t it?
LESTRADE: No, look …
This is a man willing to leave Tahiti (or wherever) at a moment’s notice because Sherlock needs looking-after. Mycroft can trust him, and probably has done for a longer time than we think.
(Lestrade and Mycroft also both refer to Sherlock as a child, much to his chagrin.)
Mycroft’s overarching concern seems to be Sherlock’s safety and sobriety, and Lestrade’s actions mirror this. We haven’t been told how Sherlock and Lestrade first started working together—all we know is that it started some five years before the events of ASiP, when Sherlock was was in his mid-twenties.
Twenty-something junkie geniuses get bored. Very bored. They need something as an alternative to getting high. I wonder which came first for Lestrade—Mycroft’s test, or Sherlock’s first case for the Yard.
In any case, I think he and John both passed big brother’s test with flying colors.

I’d say a special interest is a topic you really enjoy and it can almost feel like the feeling of falling in love, to the point where it’s on your mind almost all the time. Some autistic people may start to become extremely knowledgable in their special interests, but not at all, and it is not a defining factor over whether or not something is a special interest

Yes, we haven’t done this in a while… but our inbox and chat are swamped with questions on the subject, so this article was very much needed.
it’s a simple list of art apps, but we know you love those :D
Enough with the intro, here it is, a list of twelve art apps you may want to check out.
ArtRage is an art program for beginners and professionals. With its minimal interface, it’s easy to keep the essential tools at hand without stealing space from the canvas. Panels can be moved around and tools can be customised. We all know how important it is for digital artists to be able to modify brushes!
- Pros: easy to use; friendly interface; essential tools from professional apps available; available for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac
- Cons: it may get sluggish with big files and when using big brushes, but performances also depend on the running machine; limited selection of editing tools if compared to Photoshop - ArtRage is more of a painting program rather than an editing one.
- Paid
ArtRage Lite is a different version at a cheaper price, mostly for beginners, but also for professionals if they need the essential.
Now free, Sketchbook is the famous app created by Autodesk for various platforms.
- Pros: clean, friendly interface; easy to use; professional features
- Cons: lack of official tutorials; doesn’t offer as many tools as other apps (it’s down to the essential); paid subscription

Black Ink is a powerful little program few actually know, but there’s a reason: this isn’t your classing drawing app. What’s cool about it is the vast selection of special brushes, completely non-realistic, and definitely able to boost your creativity.

- Cons: not very easy to use; non-intuitive interface

This is probably the most complete software for painting, drawing and animation. It was originally known as Manga Studio, but with its updates and addition of features, it became Clip Studio Paint.
This doesn’t say much about the quality of the features themselves considering the affordable price (if you haven’t used the app yet, that is), but among graphic apps, this one is the top seller.
- Pros: professional features for illustrators; layout tools for comic/manga artists; 3D reference models; customisable tools; various sales with special prices
- Cons: the interface may not appear intuitive at first; the program may lag (again, performance also depends on the running machine)

GIMP is the famous open source image editor originally created for GNU/Linux and available for OS X and Windows.
Best known as Photoshop’s main competition, this is a manipulation program for both beginners and professionals who love design.
It offers many professional features, making the program a powerful tool.
- Pros: professional editing tools; supports different formats; supported by different platforms; active community
- Cons: in spite of the simple design, many options are hidden and it takes time to discover all the features; slow startup
- Free
Krita is an open source painting app created by artists for artists.
- Pros: easy to use; intuitive interface; great brush workflow; brush stabilizer; customisable brushes; general good performance; very enthusiastic, although small, community

- Free
MediBang Paint is a free and light app for drawing and painting, perfect for manga and comic creation.
- Pros: vast selection of brushes; cloud sharing; friendly, minimal interface (non-desktop app); also available for iPad, iPhone and Android
- Cons: requires an account to use all features; non-intuitive interface (desktop version)
- Free
Mischief is a sketching app with essential tools, useful for brainstorming and ideation.
- Pros: infinite drawing canvas; friendly interface; easy to use; cheap pro version
- Cons: few updates; offers only the essential (but that’s the point); no editing/adjustment tools

Corel’s jewel, Painter is the most famous software that offers digital tools able to give a traditional feel to brushes and canvas.

Paintstorm Studio is a professional software for digital painting. It’s focused on the use of brushes and blending, which makes the software a little gem in the digital painting field.

Procreate is the powerful drawing app for iOS.

- Cons: hidden features; only available for iPad

SAI is a simple app for artists who want to focus on painting and drawing.
It’s well known for its good pressure support and its essential tools for manga artists, but SAI can be used by any kind of artist who wants to paint.
- Pros: easy to use; friendly interface; light software; customisable brushes; tons of (non-official) tutorials
- Cons: limited selection of tools, even basic ones; limited canvas sizes and uses; it might crash from intensive work, especially with big canvases and brushes; supports only RGB colour mode; lack of support

MY JOHNLOCK FIC REC LIST
- Absolutely all of these fics have happy endings. I can’t read hardcore angst or I’ll die. I mean it.
- If there are any other relationships in these fics then it’ll be minor but Johnlock is def front and center and endgame for all of them.
- I’ve avoided reccing the really famous Johnlock fics. I love them but all these fics need more love cause they’re all so amazing!
- 99% of these fics are bottomlock but since I don’t care who bottoms or who tops (as long as they fuck and as long as they are in character) (that means no DFP Sherlock) (or Baby Princess John) so if you have a problem with toplock in general, tread carefully.

She’s recovering wonderfully and she is not blind and doesnt have any complications! And she rented a full workshop, she used to work literally on the other side of her tiny basically one or two room house but now she has a whole workshop! I’m so happy for her
