hey! (: I just want to commend you on answering the endless similar questions from those new to the field. Your patience is really great to see, as I remember I needed a lot of encouragement and reassurance when I was first starting out too. (: Now I'm in warrior mode and am ready to fight anyone who thinks tech isn't the industry for 'a girl like you'. F*ck that! You guys said there weren't enough girls and now I'm here to stay. Bam! ^^
Thank you for the kind words! I've been inactive lately on Tumblr because I'm in grad school for Information Science and have no time. I'll be back soon, though! ❤

Hi! I'm a 16 year old girl in high school currently, and I just found you blog. I just wanted to say that I love it so very much and I plan to go into the STEM field (More specifically engineering or programming related). I am the only girl in my 30-40 male class, and it's been no different in my engineering class (1 of 2 girls out of 60 boys taking the same class). It's good to see other females in programming and I am so encouraged by this blog! Keep up the good work!
Thank you!!
XOXO
thanks for posting that question/answer about INTJs...fellow INTJ who majored in english in uni, loved it, but didn't feel as challenged. just graduated and pursuing comp sci on my own time, and will be returning to uni for classwork. :) i also have an art background, and programming is exactly like an art...i wanted to go to art school but was told that a uni education needed to be practical. comp sci is stimulating in every way for my personality; it has theory and projects.
Awesomesauce! :D
What programming language would you recommend for those interested in programming medical software?
Hello! I’d say SQL and Java, and this site confirms. The more you know, the better. Try talking to someone in IT in the medical field -- they can probably be pretty helpful!
