A lot of older TMNT fans dislike the ROTTMNT designs for making the brothers barely look like turtles but actually I enjoy them looking mostly humanoid

They resemble the person they were mutated with a lot, they look like new species entirely and they went into drastically different direction with sharp, pointy dynamic lines, rather than huge round blobified shapes the other series were going for

Plus the designs and thought process behind each of them are amazing

I don’t usually, and my basic catch-all rundown of how i do it is in my pinned, but given it’s probably gonna be a second before i open my asks again i’ll give a quick run through of this one. (do not mistake this for setting a precedent, im just bored at the moment. i will not regularly be replying to stuff like this outside of asks) it was, weirdly, super obvious to me and i recognized it immediately, because there aren’t a ton of transit vans (which you can tell this is because you can see how long the interior is) with the taillights set that far up the rear of the vehicle, and i’ve seen so many of these 90s-early 2000s chevy express vans that i just recognize the taillight stack, with the turn signal at the bottom and the long narrow brake light flowing into the black trim with the divots. they’re so common around where i’ve lived, i’ve been stuck behind dozens of them in traffic. i did this id while walking to get a red bull on a break from work and there were two of this generation of chevy van parked within view of my job when i stepped out.

some of the ids, especially when it’s something like a close-up or an interior, i have to rely on using google lens, or if there’s a visible logo somewhere i go on a google image hunt, but a majority of the ones like this one or this jeep wrangler i snagged recently (i recognized the position of the spare wheel reflected in the rear window and the shape of the window hinge) really are just from a database of highly specific car design details that exists in my weird little brain. details like this that most people don’t even notice just tend to stick with me. so there’s some insight into how these work!

I want to say that with trans folk now being at risk of the fucking death sentence in Florida....

The time for community is Now. The time to start planning and organizing how to get our rights back is NOW. bring it up at your local LGBT craft events or book club or support group or whatever. Tell your friends. Spread the word. And maybe see which ones will have the safety and resources you'll need should a Lavender Hunt happen in your area.

And on the scarier end of reality....

This is fucking terrifying. Lots of people are at risk. Personally, I'm terrified this rhetoric will spread much like Trumpism did. I'm scared for my gf and I'm fucking scared for myself because we know historically that it isn't just trans folk on HRT or drag performers that they go after.

And you have every right to do whatever you need to protect yourself.

I'm not going to shame folks who quit HRT, who take the rainbows out of their bio, the people who start saying partner instead of revealing a gender, or anyone else taking a few steps towards the safety that the closet provides. WE shouldn't.

I looked up the lavender scare last night and was sadly unsurprised to see that the last time the community came together...was a lavender scare.

Pride was a riot because the government started doing to us then what Florida is doing to us now. It was triggered when a man was fired from his job on grounds of being gay and tried to take it to court.

This is why we have pride. This is why "think of the children" is/was an awful rhetoric to push at leather daddies and drag queens. It's not just a bad opinion or stupid discourse, it's a talking point for the right wing to justify fucking kill us.

It was never "just discourse" it was a right wing psyop to cripple us from coming together to fight against attacks just like this.

Your enemies aren't other queer people with labels you don't like. Those are your allies. Because you know who else doesn't like them?
