I like that DS9 had a plot and I like that TNG didn't. TNG was about traveling to new places, finding weird shit, and thinking about it. DS9 was about staying in one place, having weird shit come to you, and dealing with it. Entire genocides happened in TNG and the crew had the appropriate emotional responses and left. DS9 can't leave, so they have to deal with the consequences in all future episodes. TNG is about strangers, and DS9 is about neighbors.
