Do you have recs for lesbian books where the majority of the characters are women? Like Juliet Takes a Breath? Idk it seems like in most lesbians books I've read, the protag is surrounded by men except for their love interest and I'm kinda bored with it.
For sure! I feel like I’ve read tons more that match this, but I’m having trouble bringing them to mind. Here are the first ones I thought of:
- Drum Roll, Please by Lisa Jenn Bigelow (review) (questioning main character–maybe bisexual?)
- The Salt Roads by Nalo Hopkinson (review)
- Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust (review)
- Roller Girl by Vanessa North (review)
- Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis, and Shannon Watters (review)
- Jem and the Holograms by Kelly Thompson and Sophia Campbell

I also was told When Women Were Warriors would fit!
I got a lot more recommendations!
@lgbtqreads recommends Melissa Brayden’s soho loft series: it’s about three female best friends who are all queer.
@shiraglassman recommends:
- ULTRA FABULOUS GLITTER SQUADRON is cis and trans women superheroes in a spaceship doing campy adventure. I’m pretty sure there’s only one or two nonbinary people and no male MC's
- PROMISES PROMISES by L-J Baker has two f/f endgame couples + one straight woman
- PRAYER OF THE HANDMAIDEN also has two f/f endgame couples and a female antagonist
- my FEARLESS also fits this. f/f meetcute + daughter, friend, other mom
- Warming Trend by Karin Kallmaker has two endgame f/f couples and a female villain
- Mother of Souls has 5 pov women characters. There are men in it, they’re just less important. Antagonists or family members or employees
Jackie Meyer (@butchjax) recommends:
- Backcast by Ann Mcman
- Jericho by Ann Mcman
- Just Jorie by Robin Alexander
- Puppy Love series by Georgia Beers
Tiana (@Tiana_Coven) recommends: Six of One by Rita Mae Brown
@LVLM recommends:
- Curious Wine by Katherine V Forrest
- Adventure Club series by Rosalyn Wraight
- Silver Wings by H.P. Munro
KEy air UH 👽 (@squidh0e) recommends: Life is Wonderful, People are Terrific by Meliza Banales
