ok ok i just need to gush over dimitri for a bit. he’s such an incredibly compelling character, even from a conceptual standpoint. the idea of a person having so much love, so much empathy and compassion for others that it flips back around on itself and twists him into a monster when the people he cares about are wronged, when the world isn’t fair to them, is wonderful. like the fact that you can look at dimitri brutally slaughtering a legion of soldiers and think about how other characters have said that dimitri is too soft-hearted to be king and think ‘yup. that’s the same character. that makes perfect sense’ is… muAH. it’s delicious
