The Tumblr blog for my DA Page. I only casually post art here, as DA and IG are my main/most active art platforms. Here I like to reblog things I find funny, relatable, things I find generally helpful to artists/writers and in general, and anything I simply just like for one reason or another. I hope you enjoy my page~ :3 Commissions are open! DM me if interested in one!

Tumblr Tuesday: Our Flag Means Fanart

OFMD fans, how we doing? To celebrate this season's high tides, here’s some art of our most beloved crew.

Avast, ye! Here be spoilers! We tried to be so restrained that it hurt a little bit, and then we gave up. If you’re caught up but haven’t yet checked out all the fanart, what are you doing may we gently nudge you in that direction. If you haven't been watching season 2, please enjoy it at your leisure, and only then return to this excellent array of art.

I feel like in the rush of “throw out etiquette who cares what fork you use or who gets introduced first” we actually lost a lot of social scripts that the younger generations are floundering without.

A lot of tough situations where we now feel like we “don’t know what to do or say” had social scripts just a couple of generations ago and they might have been canned phrases or robotic actions but they could still be meant sincerely and unfortunately we haven’t replaced them with any more sincere or easier new script.

a lot of people are giving examples in the notes of things they just find annoying like not using headphones in public, but OP is talking about actual literal scripts of things to say in awkward situations

if you have a date or two with someone and you don't see a relationship developing? most millennials / gen Zers just end up ghosting. but a social script that might have been taught and rehearsed in the past could be:

"I really appreciated getting dinner with you the other night and I enjoyed your company, but I'm afraid I didn't feel a spark. I wish you the best, and hope you find that special someone!"

like it sounds kind of trite but it was at least something to say and it can still be meant with kind sincerity. it also communicates in 2 sentences that you don't want to see them romantically again, but there aren't any hard feelings about that. that's it!!! that's all it takes!!!

Another example is that at parties a lot of people talk about how awkward it is to mingle or talk to people they dont know. But at old timey parties that was traditionally the HOST'S job, and there was a specific scripted way of doing it that eased the process! The host would bring you in, introduce you and maybe even a little bit about you like what you did for a living, and then guide you to a group you could talk to. They didn't just let you in the door and then ditch you to fend for yourself in a sea of strangers. That would be unthinkable and no one would be surprised if a get-together like that wound up being awkward.

A really good host would actually provide a topic of conversation based on things you and the person they were introducing you to had in common.

At networking events I've gone to, where there's no host who knows everybody, good networkers pick up the slack. They go around the room once making just enough small talk to learn some useful info about a good portion of of the people in the room, and then circle back around and go, "Oh hey I was just talking to X over there and he's looking for someone who does Y for his next project; you should go talk to him." You can do something similar at parties, referring people to other people you made smalltalk with you have the same hobbies or like the same kind of movies.

To take a few steps back up the thread to the part about turning down future dates, the same goes for turning down shitty job offers.

"[Thank you for your interest]/[Thank you for thinking of me for this role], however I'm afraid [I have prior commitments]/[I'm not a good fit] at this time. I wish you the best of luck [finding the right fit for your company]/[with your startup endeavor]"

Delete or substitute more relevant lines as appropriate, but it's a polite way of saying "no" without feeling like you need to overexplain.

Increasingly, people -- millennials and younger, rarely anyone older -- will not get the hint about this and get pushy, fishing for extra information to let them work around the Polite No, which in previous generations would have been incredibly rude. It's still incredibly rude, at which point the polite response is, "Thank you, but I gave you my final answer. Best of luck!" no matter how many times they come back. Become a broken record until they go away.

Since I have been drawing some of my witch characters to help celebrate October/The Spooky Month this year, I knew I had to draw some of the witches from my novel. This is the third drawing I've done so far(the other two are on different blogs), featuring Ren and Gaia~ 💧🌿💚

They are a swamp witch and green witch respectively. I knew I definitely wanted to either draw some or at least one of the witches from my novel, but I was stuck on who to choose till @littlechaoticwitch suggested I draw either Ren or Gaia! :3 Since witchcraft is super important to both their characters, and both are well established in their crafts. Went with multiple years in the future for this(where they are in their late twenties-early thirties), where they are married and living their best, happy lives together~ ^w^

I hope you guys enjoy! <3

Since it is October, I wanted to draw more of my witch characters(from all my different stories/universes) to help give off the spooky vibes~ :3 This is the second witch I have drawn(the first is on my @winxngasks blog) for the month, with this being Mai Small, a crystal and love witch~

So for Mai, she has always been a big nerd for fantasy stories and magic, and always found the witch aesthetic cool but never pursued it much throughout her life. Later as an adult and after she gets to know Callum more she becomes more interested in the idea of gaining her own magic, especially after seeing how own healing and fortune powers(though he is not a witch himself). Once she feels ready she goes to the Blacksons' witchcraft shop for some advice and tools to help her start her journey as a witch, and from there she starts to learn all sorts of new spells, with her beau by her side to support her. While always having a general interest in magic she ends up primarily studying in the fields of crystal and love magic. She studies crystals for their healing properties(which would allow her to work with Callum using their different forms of healing magic), and love magic because of her side work in match-making, though also familial love magic too due to her strong connection for her family and her love for children~ <3

I hope you enjoy! :D This one was super fun to draw, not only because Mai is so pretty(and the outfit she is wearing is based on this super cute one I found), but because I got to draw her in warmer colors for once which I think she pulls off fairly well~ ^w^

Since it is October, I wanted to draw more of my witch characters(from all my different stories/universes) to help give off the spooky vibes~ :3 The first witch I drew is from my main next-gen universe, Violet(daughter of Krystal and Roy, for those who don't remember)! The Witch of Emotion~

She was the one who stood out the most to me to draw, mostly because her design is still pretty solid and I want to redesign the other witches from this universe first. Decided to update her outfit slightly to fit more with the witch outfits from canon, mainly changing the cut of her shirt and pants(not super noticeable since her hands are covering it), giving her purplish-black, handless forearm gloves that connect around the middle fingers, a silver necklace with a "V" charm, and dangling, purple crystal earrings. Her makeup consists of black eyeshadow on the eyelids, lilac eyeshadow in a "flashy" design under the eyes, and black lipstick. Her boots are still silver and go just above the knees, with black soles and high-heels.

I hope you enjoy! ^w^
