here’s Inspirational Quote/text that matches the first letter of your name:
I was always hungry for love. Just once, I wanted to know what it was like to get my fill of it — to be fed so much love I couldn’t take any more. Just once. Haruki Murakami
You are the sum total of everything you’ve ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot - it’s all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive. Maya Angelou
“You have to accept that sometimes that’s how things happen in this world. People’s opinions, their feelings, they go one way, then the other. It just so happens you grew up at a certain point in this process.”
You have to accept that sometimes that’s how things happen in this world. People’s opinions, their feelings, they go one way, then the other. It just so happens you grew up at a certain point in this process.

When we meet someone and fall in love, we have a sense that the whole universe is on our side. And yet if something goes wrong, there is nothing left! How is it possible for the beauty that was there only minutes before to vanish so quickly? Life moves very fast. It rushes from heaven to hell in a matter of seconds.
-Paulo Coelho
Ten years from now, make sure you can say that you chose your life, you didn’t settle for it.

About all you can do in life is be who you are. Some people will love you for you. Most will love you for what you can do for them, and some won’t like you at all.

last time i reblogged this, i got this ask:
so please, please reblog. this could actually save a life.
keep yourselves safe!
I was scrolling down fastly to reblog after reading the picture, and I noticed my countries number while I couldn’t with everyone else’s
Always
Please always reblog this, you never know who may need it
Yesterday marked the anniversary of Gerboise Bleue, France’s first nuclear explosion (amongst many) in Algeria which was 4 times the strength of Hiroshima. people in the Sahara are still suffering from nuclear poison that remains.
40 000 person from Raqan were affected by radiation, babies are still born with deformation to this day, groundwater and plants were contaminated, animals and especially camels, an important animal for people there were affected. France lied first about the importance of it, and to this day refuses to acknowledge it, nor give the complete truth about it. and ofc no apologies or reparations. Algeria has yet to know where exactly the toxic waste was buried
Can’t reblog this enough.
Not the way I figured it would turn out, but I learned something here.
This is called Trophic Cascade in ecology.
A perfect example for top-down ones. (Btw. this applies to wolves in other places as well)

Dr. Willie Parker, who is trained as a gynecologist and OBGYN, is a hero for the pro-choice movement because he’s honest about the undiscussed aspects of getting (or not getting) an abortion. Watch how he gives a consultation.
That last statement about regret is so important, because so many people don’t understand what it is or what causes it. Anti-choicers exploit this by manipulating pregnant people and creating doubt, which only increases the likelihood of regret, no matter what decision the pregnant person makes. You know what is best for you, even if it takes some time to figure it out.

Willie Parker is a HERO among common people!
Dr. Parker is one of the few things I like about Alabama and we are so fortunate to have him here.
this is no joke. i looked around the reviews of several different candles just in case it could’ve been a single bad batch but nope.
these screenshots are only from like 4 or 5 different candles but i could’ve grabbed plenty more.
y’all, seriously, loss of smell is a possible effect of covid. if things don’t smell/taste as strong as you remember GET TESTED and ISOLATE. if someone you know is complaining about their candles not having a scent, inform them and encourage them to get tested. and wear a fucking mask, y’all.
What a fuckin metric to see the disease!
Losing your sense of taste and smell isn’t just a possible effect. It’s very common and it may be a cardinal symptom (meaning it can be used in making a diagnosis). For a lot of people, it may be the only symptom. Worse, it’s a long term condition which can last for months, even after you recover from the virus. Doctors worry that some people may never fully recover their sense of smell.
A friend of mine was telling me a few days ago, how her boyfriend has barely been able to taste or smell anything since April. And honestly, that’s horrifying. No one knows exactly why the virus does this, but being unable to taste or smell anything can cause depression.
It’s a cliché on Tumblr to say “not enough people are talking about this” but, seriously, not enough people are talking about this. That social gathering you want to go to is not worth being unable to taste or smell properly until next summer.
If you reblogged the Stonehenge petition read this
As an archaeology student who studied Stonehenge, I was horrified by the news that they wanted to build a tunnel anywhere near Stonehenge. So, of course, I posted the petition here. I was glad to see it get near 70k notes, but those notes laid bare another issue that is demonstrative of why archaeological sites are so undervalued. Many sites across the world struggle to get funded and excavation seasons are relegated to a tight schedule with a minimal team and resources.
The tunnel at Stonehenge should be infuriating because the government will pour over 1b into building this tunnel but have consistently denied funding to excavations. The tunnel will destroy approximately half a million artefacts that have not yet been studied. No thought is given to excavating first. Who knows what history this will be wiped from the archaeological record.
Stonehenge is NOT just the surface level stones. It cannot be moved, and no, it can’t be tunnelled under without harm for the sake of reducing noise pollution or lessening traffic.
Stonehenge is an archaeological LANDSCAPE. This means that below the surface of the earth, there lies everything from the foundations of pre-historic villages, evidence of ritual feasting, cremated human remains, proof of long distance travel, and thousands of years of history of use and building. It is all vital to our understanding of our ancient ancestors and gives us a glimpse into their lives and beliefs that precious few other sites have given us.
Protecting Stonehenge isn’t about protecting a few strange rocks, it is about protecting our history.
let me be very clear that if you voted for donald trump or support him in any capacity you are not welcome here. my blog is not the place for you and i do not want you interacting with me.

what the hell is going on in this country?!
Well damn
Shit has been bad for a while
Right so this lady was smart, if you’re ever in a sedan-style trunk there’s a little pull tab that you can use to get yourself out that is STANDARD in cars built after 2001. It’s the law just like headlights and seatbelts.
if you are in an SUV style vehicle or newer model car you may be able to find the automatic trunk release wire, pull on it, it will pop the trunk
if you can’t find any of that stuff, look for the brake light housing. You will need to pull back the trunk carpeting and feel about. It’s probably bolted in, but some careful wiggling will dislodge it. If people see a goddamn arm waving out of a hole in a car while they poke along I-95 they likely will do something about it
Reblog to save a life….
I was about to explain that handle myself. I did in the past and was told I have a sick since of humor for saying it helps to serve as an escape method in kidnappings.
Some of them even glow in the dark for easier finding.

really sick of americans saying people from other countries aren’t allowed to have opinions on their politics when y’all interfere in our elections, start and fund revolutions and coups to shape our governments to align with your greedy capitalist morals, and have 800 fucking military bases around the world. the shit you do in regards to your government affects the rest of the world bc y’all have inserted yourselves in the rest of the world.
Fun fact about me
I had HORRIBLE handwriting my entire childhood. Consistently got failing grades on homework and tests because no one could read my writing.
And then I hit middle school. I saw the "popular girls" getting praised for their stupid cutesy heart over the I writing. I saw people I could run mental circles around without breaking a sweat getting good grades, because the teacher could read their writing easier.
So I started copying it.
And wouldn't you know, my grades improved!
But of course, if you know me, you already know....there's no WAY I was gonna stop there. Oh no.
As a ADHD/Autistic, I did what any self respecting nerd introvert would do- I hit the library. And I researched. The evolution of the written language, the evolution of alphabets and writing styles from Ancient Greece all the way through the Spencerian movement.
And I fell into calligraphy. I hyperfocused.
And over the course of a year, developed my own cursive hand (going from never writing in cursive) that was a loose blend of Palmer, Spencerian, Chaucurian and 16th century Italian italics, with a lot of acender and defender flourishes.
I handed in homework in 15th century German High Gothic blackletter.
I did reports in 17th century italics.
And my teachers went from hating me for my horrible, illegible handwriting, to loving the sudden shift to legible bubble letters, to hating me again because they couldn't read my writing again, but for a different reason.
Only now, they didn't really have a good reason to be mad, because if they admitted to not being able to read Chaucerian font, they'd be admitting that they couldn't comprehend someone performing at a level of education and familiarity with the written language far above their own skill set (yes I had one teacher actually admit that to me in 8th grade. I genuinely respected her for it and picked a font that was easier to read than blackletter for her class).
And so began my descent into the rabbit hole of medieval illumination and calligraphy.
And so now, 25 years later, I do stuff like this:
(The bottom image has my celtic art business logo for Art of the Ancients; im on Instagram, but haven't updated in a long while because I've been busy with other projects and there wasn't a heck of a lot of interest. I still do commissions though)
Bob Ross once said, "A talent is just a skill you're willing to practice." I heard that, ran with it, and never looked back.
That’s so fucking dope
