Solomon doesn't fall in love.
The sorcerer - as wicked as he is - protects his heart like it's the greatest treasure in Heaven or on Earth. No matter how well one thinks they know Solomon, he ensures they're kept a firm, polite distance from who he really is.
Then, Solomon met you and every wall - metaphorical and literal - that he had placed around his heart to protect himself crumbled.
In less than a year, you knew Solomon better than anybody else, and despite the warning bells sounding in his mind, Solomon let himself get to know you, too.
Solomon let himself indulge in café dates and movie nights with you, allowed himself to revel in your innocent affections and little touches, and he kept your sweet words tucked behind his ribcage, hidden by his heart which seemed to beat solely for you.
When your touches crossed the line between friendly and loving, when your sweet words became tender and gentle, when you returned his affections without an ounce of hesitation, Solomon knew that letting you know him - letting himself feel, really feel - was the greatest decision he could have possibly made.
No, Solomon doesn't fall in love, but when it came to you, the sorcerer walked face first into it. And, now that he knows just how lovely it is to love and be loved by you, he can't bring himself to walk away.
