They are still shooting season 3, I don’t expect a teaser before the end of the year, and any sort of full trailer before March 2022.
As far as Jensen Ackles and Soldier Boy and the whole season 3 goes... I didn’t like season 2 that much. It was ok. Worse than season 1, better than what I expected. Hated with all my strenght that they never knew how to deal properly with the racism theme - actually I don’t think they ever wanted to; Stormfront was a glorified nazist and they sold it as acceptabl.
Anyway, season 3: I have nothing against Jensen; in fact I like him way more than I will ever like Jared Padalecki. I think he will be a good Soldier Boy. Nothing against him, or the character.
BUT, and I say that with the uttermost respect for his fans and the Supernatural fandom: I wish they had casted someone else. The same way I wish Jeffrey Dean Morgan never comes on board - because it is not about Soldier Boy and his part in the story/mithology, but about Jensen Ackles - and that in itself is a whole different can of worms, if the amount of questions I get about Soldier Boy/Homelander and the comics is an indication.
Don’t even get me started on Jim Michaels.
Anyway, no trailer anytime soon, but I’m sure we’ll get some Jensen/Soldier Boy promo material when time comes.
