And if “don’t be rude to teenagers over a stupid jawbreaker” isn’t enough for you, consider
- You can’t tell how old a kid is just by looking. I’ve known multiple 5th graders who were taller than I am, and I’m 25 years old. With their faces hidden by masks, you won’t be able to tell they’re elementary schoolers, but they still are.
- Lots of older siblings are expected to take their younger siblings trick-or-treating, and they only get paid in candy.
- You don’t know if that teenager is developmentally disabled.
- You don’t know if that teenager spent most of their childhood in a hospital or sick and has never had the traditional trick-or-treat experience before.
- You don’t know if this is that teenager’s first Halloween in America, and they just want to experience a piece of American culture.
- You don’t know if that teenager ever gets candy any other day of the year.
- You don’t know if that teenager has eaten anything at all today.
And those are just things I can think of off the top of my head.

The Twins – Alike or Different?
Seeing our Ciel’s flashback in the latest chapter makes it seem a bit like the differences between the twins became more prominent as time progressed. In chapter 130 we still had Tanaka’s view of the twins and from that it seemed like the twins were very much alike:
Now in chapter 131 we have our Ciel’s view of his past and throughout this flashback the differences between the twins are made more noticeable.
At first he also talks about them being twins and looking very much alike, so much that even their parents had trouble telling them apart:
This actually indicates that not only their looks are the same but their personality, as well, because if their personality really had been that different their parents wouldn’t have trouble to tell who is who.
The first thing our Ciel notices as a difference is their health:
Here he still says that both of them are exactly alike, except for their health.
But later that view seems to change. Either because the bad health really changed his personality or maybe it just changed his view of himself because he experienced what consequences his bad health had for the way he could live his life and he felt more and more like a burden. While our Ciel said they were exactly alike in the beginning, he later points out all the differences so that them looking alike is the only thing left where they are resembling each other:
It’s important to remember that this flashback is from our Ciel’s point of view, so it might be subjective and influenced by how our Ciel feels about himself. It would be interesting to see how others saw the twins. If there were really such great differences between the two of them in their personality or if it’s just something that developed over time or if our Ciel is now exaggerating in seeing only these differences between them now.

About o!Ciel and Sebastian's contract
I have been thinking if there’s a way of breaking o!Ciel’s contract with Sebastian.
I used the tale of Doctor Faustus as a guide, although I did not find the original version as the story was modified by other authors/word of mouth. Basically, Faustus sells his soul to a devil called Mephistopheles in order to obtain power and knowledge.
In ‘The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus’ – which I believe it is a second or third version – Faustus is visited by a good angel and a bad angel, who can be seen as a metaphor for his troubled conscience, I guess. He struggles to decide whether to succumb completely or seek salvation.
I found many endings for this story, but mostly Faustus’ soul goes to hell or it is saved by someone else/praying/believing in God.
According to a few pieces of literature, there are ways to end a contract/pact/deal:
- Not succumb to the demon’s temptation.
- Have faith and ask God for salvation.
- Become pure once more by regretting the evil actions committed because of the pact and rejecting all the good and privileges gained.
In some other old tales, priests or other religious figures use divine artifacts/figures/signs or God’s protection to get rid of a demon/devil. However, willpower and faith seem to be the key elements. In the versions Faustus questions his actions and is troubled by the pact, for example, he is saved.
As o!Ciel questions his desire for revenge, he’ll also question his deal with Sebastian. It will be interesting because we didn’t really have a direct talk about morality in Kuroshitsuji – at least I can’t recall any. O!Ciel might think about his actions, but he doesn’t speak about them. He mostly lies about his true motivations to avoid showing weakness to Sebastian.
Instead, he makes sure to remind Sebastian and himself that he won’t regret his actions, what makes it difficult for a possible salvation through faith and purification.
The story does not address religion and God or has an evil x good approach, so I think o!Ciel will have to find another option. Also, if Sebastian notices o!Ciel is starting to hesitate he’d probably do something to prevent him from doing so.
I can’t see o!Ciel easily abandoning his main goal and I guess r!Ciel’s existence will be temporary. Every story that features the dead coming back to life ends with another death because it is against laws of nature. Therefore, o!Ciel needs a really good motivation to pursue another path and I don’t think it will be r!Ciel.
I guess getting rid of the demon will also work. Perhaps that is why UT wants to get rid of Sebastian? Maybe Yana-sensei will introduce another character – a human with spiritual powers or a divine being? – to be Sebastian’s enemy.
We still don’t know much about Blavat and he seems to know about Sebastian’s true nature, so perhaps he can be an enemy at some point. I always found peoples’ reaction to the Music Hall strange.
Fortune tellers were very popular and respected in the nineteenth-century and some people even abandoned their families to pursue whatever the fortune teller said. Maybe this is why they were so oddly happy about going to the Music Hall?
It’d be interesting if he indeed had powers or was at least spiritually sensible.
I mean, what does exactly happen in this panel? I doubted he programmed the machines to go crazy at the same time. He does not have this technology yet. Was he using some sort of magic or was it for dramatic effect?
What if the terms of the contract are not fulfilled? As o!Ciel made the contract with Sebastian, he asked for a power greater than anyone else’s. If r!Ciel gets his titles back, does that mean o!Ciel will be powerless?
Regardless of what will happen, Sebastian won’t give up so easily. He’s attached to o!Ciel after the trouble he went to shape his soul the way he’ll most enjoy it.
I am not sure which path sensei will follow. I wish for a happy ending for o!Ciel since he is my favorite character, but at the same time I want a real, heartbreaking ending hehe~

I love the imagery of how Ciel is depicted as having “called to Sebastian”: as if it is saying Ciel’s very soul called out to Sebastian; like they were meant to be together. Fated. “Ahhh… He is calling me. Amidst sadness, anger, confusion and despair… He is calling… me.”
If I die before Kuroshitsuji series is finished, I would probably rise from my grave every 18th to check for latest chapter update, rant about it, and then return back to my grave. Then, on the day Kuroshitsuji ended, I will be able to die peacefully

What would the S & M boys feel about their SO wants to cut her hair short. But she has REALLY long hair, like past the butt 😂 Sorry If my english Is bad.
