- It was me. I was the guy who shot and missed.
every day someone on this app says joel took away ellie’s agency and every day i wanna scream about it WE SHOULDNT ACTUALLY, IN FACT, LET TRAUMATISED FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GIRLS SACRIFICE THEMSELVES WHEN THE REASON THEYRE SO READY TO DIE IS INTRINSICALLY LINKED TO THAT TRAUMA! and actually the fact that the fireflies were so ready to exploit that trauma and use it to justify killing her (i.e. marlene saying she’d want this as tho that would negate the horror of what she was doing) has more to do with ellie’s agency than anything else lmao
Fireflies: good news Joel, we didn’t let Ellie wake up and we’re gonna kill her asap lol. If you even think about going near her we’ll kill you instantly too, there’s no room for conversation ❤️
Some of the fandom: why would Joel do this
Anyway earlier that very same day, Ellie was talking to Joel about the things they could do and the places they could visit together after they’d seen the Fireflies. There was no indication that she was ready and/or planning to die for the vaccine until tlou2 was like “well actually” about it lol.
If Joel had left the hospital as the Fireflies intended—left Ellie to die alone with no one at her side, not talking to her, not even saying goodbye—how would that not be a bigger betrayal and abandonment of her? 🤔
Omg is this actually in discussiom? I mean I woukd have done the same Joel did. Am I a monster now?

So um…apparently they actually fed a God damn giraffe. They didn’t pretend to feed one that was CGI’d in later, they got to play with a fucking giraffe.
What do I have to do to feed a giraffe with Pedro??? Cuz I’ll do it

Morgana conquered Camelot twice and declared herself Queen. And what she did after that?
She killed innocent civilians. She burned their crops. She let their children starve. She tortured and killed the Knights. She tortured Gwaine by forcing him to fight for her own amusement. And then she tried to help magic users like her! ah no, she didn’t lol
I mean, i love Morgana because she’s a good villain and Katie is freaking amazing, but DON’T TELL ME she was fighting for freedom and justice 😭 Don’t tell me she was fighting for her people. She didn’t care about them. As someone said in another post “Morgana’s quest was personal vengeance disguised as revolution”. She wanted vengeance and power, she wasn’t doing all this horrible things for revolution and for a change. Mordred KNEW she was bad, but he joined her because at some point he had something to avenge himself.
Just because you sympathize with an antagonist or villain, doesn’t mean they aren’t an antagonist or villain^^“ Morgana had good intentions in season 1 and 2, but after that? Nope!
At the end Morgana was done.

She is like a female David Bowie. Or non-male. She IS David Bowie
hi. if your analysis of gender holds "male" and "female" and "nonbinary" as distinct identities with no overlap, and it does not include room for the fact that some men are also women and some women are also men and some men and women are also nonbinary and some people are all three, it's bad analysis and not inclusive of multigender people.
let me ask you this:
does your discourse about who is "allowed" in lesbian spaces make room for women who also identify as men, or do you say that a lesbian must be a "non-man"? does your wlw tumblr blog add "men dni" at the bottom of every post with no regard for the wlw who are also men? does your discourse about who is "allowed" in gay male spaces make room for men who also identify as women? does your discourse about who is "allowed" in nonbinary spaces make room for people who are also men and/or women in addition to being nonbinary?
when you talk about acceptance for trans people, are you including multigender people who still identify with their AGAB, including people who don't want to medically transition or change their presentation? are you including AMAB people whose identities still include "male" and who use he/him pronouns and present masculinely, or are you going to call them "predatory males" and kick them out of trans spaces? are you including AFAB people whose identities still include "female" and who use she/her pronouns and present femininely, or are you going to call them "theyfabs trying to feel special" and kick them out of trans spaces?
if your answer to any of those was "i hadn't even considered that", this is your sign that you need to listen to multigender people more, because we've been talking about these issues for a very long time
star trek explores these strange seemingly inconsequential extremes because it wants you to consider the possibility that your concept of ethics doesnt and could never possibly account for every scenario. It wants you to consider the ethical ramifications of just wiping out the little nanites taking over your ships computer even though eventually this will kill you all becuase
-What if they're alive?
-What if they're sentient?
-What if they don't realize they're hurting us?
-What if what hurts us is what they need to live?
-What if we can communicate with them?
Star Trek takes the situation of, "these computer bugs are eating our ship and in an hour we'll all be dead and we COULD just wipe them out utterly but...what if they're like us?" because the ramifications effect what risks we ourselves are willing to take in the name of pacifism and understanding. it says that even the smallest most immenently dangerous creature deserves as much of a chance to live peacefully as we can possibly give it through understanding.
without examining ourselves this way, through these made up seemingly inane situations, we will never be able to understand ourselves and what we're truly capable of, what levels of understanding can be achieved. without the ability to place ourselves in a difficult situation and reach beyond our first instinct of fight or flight and self-preservation, we will never be evolve as a global community
