not sure if many other kandi kids have this problem so this might just be a vent, but as a kandi kid who lives with their parents it’s almost impossible for them to take my kandi seriously.
i’ve owned and operated my kandi business alone with decent success since 2021 and they refuse to take any of my work seriously. they see it as childish and useless yet also love to take advantage of my ability to create things.
i have a very clear boundary that i only give away my kandi for free on my own terms, and have communicated this to my parents multiple times. this is mainly because they love to advertise my business and products to people For Free without consulting or even telling me until after they’ve made promises.
they’ve come to me multiple times just within the last month telling me they promised their friends and coworkers my work For Free and expected me to spend time and resources on these people who i don’t even know with no compensation.
again, this might just be a vent but its so frustrating to never have my craft be taken seriously yet also be taken advantage by the same people who call kandi a waste of time.
