there's a delicate balance between "seeing something on my dash so often i end up caring about it unexpectedly" and "seeing something on my dash so often that it gets added to the blocked list with extreme prejudice"

You are the villain’s right hand man and you are the true power behind their criminal empire. The villain would never have achieved their status as a super villain without you, so when the hero finally arrested the villain, nothing actually changed.

It all began with my father. He had been a criminal mastermind, one of the first true supervillains, and he’d been smart enough to funnel some money away in case anything happened to them. But in those days, fights between villains and heroes often ended with death. I came upon him, killed by what passed for a hero at that time, more like a self appointed judge and jury. The masked man sneered at me, told me this is what happened to those who preyed upon others. I only ever personally went after one hero, before I set up my scheme. He was retired by this point, but I had figured out his actual identity. Before I shot him in the gut, I sneered at him, and told him this is what happens to those who preyed upon others. My first attempt at a patsy, well, he never got really big time. A smaller city. Too much of a love for theatrics. However, I managed the empire, and after his death, we found another. He became well known, but not quite to supervillain status, the Red Hook. He was also the first one to simply be arrested. He also knew better than to rat out any of his underlings, and we made sure his family was taken care of. But our next one? He was less a patsy, but someone who knew. Who understood. It was an honor and a privilege to work under Magenta Fire. He had a brilliance that matched mine, and understood the price to pay for being the supervillain. He took the theatrics of our first ‘leader’, but made them work. A distraction par excellence. He cultivated a rivalry with one of the new breed of heroes, the ones who preferred not to kill. This one called himself the People’s Shield. Magenta and I came to respect him. He had a code, but learned, and even built a following of other heroes, which helped him. We’d always lose a few men, but they were alive, in prison, and we helped out their families, and even got them more legitimate jobs if that’s what they wanted out of prison. Any good criminal empire includes a lot of legitimate business, makes it harder to nail things down. I serve as chairman of the board for most of ours. It makes things easier. Last week, Magenta came to me, told me he was certain we were reaching the end, otherwise things might get too hot for everyone. So we set up a grand finale. A disused tenement, the squatters we bought out with actual homes and promises of employment, that I intend to keep. We found a few members who wanted to ‘retire’ through a fight, and gave the heroes what they wanted. A nice, final confrontation with enough of a challenge that they wouldn’t realize it was staged on our part. They arrested Magenta yesterday. All of our operations are going a bit quieter for the next month, but I already have a new supervillain set up. She’s the grand-niece of our first villain, has his sense of theatrics (which I now recognize the value of), but a kind of ruthless cunning that I recognize will keep me on my toes. As for me… This is too fun to give up. I’ll keep going as long as I can. I’m a respected pillar of the community, after all.

In the recent Undertale newsletter, Toby Fox showed off an unused scene that would have occurred in the Judgement Hall had the player decided to speedrun the game! This scene features Sans chastising the player for being early and slowly eating an ice cream for about a full minute while an original, slow song plays. I’m sure this would have been quite a headache for speedrunners!

Shigaraki: “Okay, with all the revelations we had during the war, I want everyone to come clean. Dabi is related to Endeavor. Compress is related to Oji Harima. Does anyone else have anything they’d like to share?”

Spinner: “I’m in love with you.”

Toga: “I stole $50 out of Skeptic’s wallet.”

Shigaraki: “What?”

Skeptic: “What?!”

Writing Tip Index

So I realize most of my Tumblr followers just follow me on Tumblr, which I’m cool with, but since I’ve been working really hard on updating my website, I still wanted to share it with everyone. If you have visited it recently, you’ve probably noticed quite a few changes. You can check it out here.

One of the new features is that I’ve compiled an almost complete list of my writing tips by topic. I’ll be updating it regularly here.

Below is the list as of my posting this. There are also a couple of articles that aren’t mine (noted) that I refer other writers to.
